Anyone try MILVs yet?
Anyone thinking about trying these? On a S55, they made 35whp near redline, which I think the N55 really needs. I think there would be some magic here with an turbo inlet - I have no desire for 400000000whp, but making a linear 350ish/whp that doesn’t drop off at redline would be ideal.

It sounds promising but there is limited testing and reliability information in the research I’ve done Mike |

Lol!
I can tell already that’s i like this group haha. But yeah, I had them on my E92 for 30k? No issues. It’s just a remachined OEM part that increases the rocker ratio (and subsequently Valve lift) BPC blew their project car up, and the valve train was ok. I’ll probably give it a shot here soon. |

Mine are sitting in my car pending install. I've been paying attention to my car less as I move towards getting hitched!
Priorities.

The main gain isn't peak power, it's area under the curve which is actually quite significant. You also get a higher and longer intake valve lift allowing more air to get into the cylinders and as a result boost pressure drops meaning cooler iats. Don't panic though because boost is a result of air backing up in the charge pipes waiting to get into the engine, a decrease in boost as a result in more valve lift and duration doesn't decrease power it only decreases boost as more of that waiting air can get into the engine.

Question - do N55's need a complete valve cover replacement or can I get away with just doing the gasket? Mine is already leaking and I have the gasket, but I thought I read the entire cover should be replaced? They will also be doing a intercooler install at the same time, because I don't have ramps/jacks to do it in the garage. I just need to call Bob at StageFP and see if he can send me the revised tune. I was trying to do a before dyno, but there is no way this intercooler on the car can hold up to one or more 4th gear pulls. So I HAVE to change the intercooler.

I had my valvetronic system replaced twice and only needed a new valve cover gasket each time same valve cover.

I just turned over 100K miles! But I've never noted an issue with the PVC.

Yeah I'd change it for the peace of mind, because most of the hardware is single time use (which you're replacing during the milv install) so I wouldn't want to pay for the same hardware + gaskets later on down the road if the valve cover were to fail.

Ordered a new valvecover (and a front bumper) - I have an aftermarket chargepipe (on the car), but I might grab a different one to ensure it mates with the intercooler AND that I can wrap in heat reflective tape.
thejeremyman9 was able to get his IATs within 5F of ambient by doing this.
