And that actually isn't a bad price considering the advantage it gives on the track. Racin' ain't cheap.

Hey everybody, I just did the Porsche GT3 air ducts in stall on my '18 F87, and wanted to leave the installation video and couple of pictures here in case anyone else is going to attempt a DYI in the future.

Buy the duct kit here:

Picture of the original air ducts as well as the modified ones, including tools needed for the install:

+1 thanks for sharing !
does anyone know..does the Porsche have the backing shields similar to ours ??
How do they channel the air flow toward the center hub ?
On our cars, Its hard to imagine that sufficient air will actually get to the hub center with the shields in place and unmodified.

My buddy has a 911 S and he has them front and back. He had backing plates, but I don't recall how aggressive was the opening. Next time I am at his house, I'll take a picture. Or someone could pull the schematics for 911 brakes...

Completed the long overdue brake duct diy over this weekend. Wasn't too bad, took about 3 hours taking my time. Had to buy a few new tools (oh no) including a drill, some bits and a hole saw and an assortment of parts. The parts totaled about $200, add another $100 for new backing plates if you ever want to return to stock.

I'll be at Limerock for the PCA event this Monday to see if this makes a material difference. I fear my testing will be anecdotal as I don't have a way to measure a difference and my calipers have long turned black. I hope that at least these ducts help prevent cracking of brake pads, which has become a problem recently.

I got guidance on everything from the following post, although I think his duct mounting points were better located:

I got tired of make-shifting some brake cooling ducting and finally dove in the rabbit hole! I found a set of M4-GT4 brake ducts from a racing friend of mine and decided to make it work on my M2. It took some work, taking off the front bumper cover and all related shields, etc. plus modifying a few areas to get the duct through, but I think I have some decent brake cooling now.
It consists of a 2.5" hose from the front of the nose with the M4 scoop, and a 3" hose from a scoop under the A-arm. The GT4 backing plate replaces the stock shield, is carbon fiber, and has provisions for both the 3" and the 2.5" hose. The scoop is plastic and is one I had lying around, not part of the GT4 setup. I did cut out the bumper cover to fit the GT4 small scoops for the 2.5" hose, but I'll get over it. The M4 nose is not exactly the same shape as the M2 nose, but I think it looks OK and it works.
All this is after I gave up on the stock M2 brakes and went to AP calipers and rotors.
Just thought it might be of interest to some of you guys.

Nice place for the bumper air intake.

Do you have any pics of the GT4 backing plate? Curious how they aimed the two hoses on to the rotor

The CF backing plate replaces the stock backing plate, and the two hoses are directed into the eye of the rotor, not onto the rotor itself. I blew air into the front of the car and could feel it coming out of the vents in the rotor, so it works. I'll try and get a pic of the CF backing plate and post it.

I have the cf backing plate from Lightweight for one hose which works very well. It also points the hose to the center. Curious about the double hose setup :-)

I tried it, and I’m picking up the front scoops again soon. I still have the rotor shields as well (including the one with a bit of burn through), but I plan on modifying the stock aluminum shields with duct connections.

Installed the 997 Turbo Rear Brake Cooling Duct Kit. Figured the additional rear cooling couldn't hurt. Slight modification needed for clearance.

I added the Porsche air deflectors to the rear a while back, but also cut away a quadrant of the backing plate so cool air can make it into the hat.

It surprisingly made a noticeable improvement.

If you cut the correct portion of the protection plate and align your deflector correctly, the air flows right into the hat where you want it—same as the fronts. You don’t have to remove the whole plate.

This is the kind of cooling I want. I have AP fronts as well, but none of the cooling solutions seem effective enough to survive at Monza.

Any idea where I could at least find scoops like you have connected to your lower arms? I’m not willing to cut my bumper just yet. Snaking the cooling hose through the narrow gaps between the body brackets and the various radiators doesn’t sound like fun, either. I’ve already spent a lot of time looking around the area inside the wheel arches trying to find a path for the cooling hoses, and everything is a compromise.

Did the M4 rotor backing plates fit correctly on the 372mm rotors?
