Wrapping the factory diffuser
Has anybody had the factory diffuser wrapped? For some odd reason I like it and think with the top slots across it a carbon wrap on it old look choice. Not wait as dramatic and the finned ones but nice and subtle. If so any pics out there?

I'm curious about this as well. I think it's the only part on the car that looks kind of cheap. A CF wrap might make it more interesting. I'd like to see how the gloss black looks, too. There's already gloss black around the windows and on the mirrors, so it could end up looking very nice.

I'll post up some pics once I get it back mid next week. Depending on total labor time, should be around 300 give or take. IND is doing the work. I watched them remove the diffuser today. It was a lot more difficult than I'd expected. I'm "difuserless" for the next few days

I recently picked up the M Performance diffuser and brought it to a local shop to have it painted black to match the kidney grilles.
Since I hadn't installed the diffuser on my car yet, the paint job by itself was under $200. |

Someone posted this in another thread for me and looks like there's a painted diffuser in the photos

Here it is. I love it! Thanks to Cat at IND for making this happen! This is how it should have come from the factory. I love how the OEM tips pop against the gloss black diffuser.

Sweet! Did they sand it first, or just spray it?

Quick question for those looking to refit a factory diffuser...
There two support pieces that fit either side which most discard when fitting a non-stock diffuser: 1. Where exactly do these fit.... do they sit behind the bumper.. then the diffuser clips (left and right) go through the bumper slot and clip into the supports? ... not sure how easy it would be to put these supports back in. 2. Are these support parts 'really' needed? All aftermarket DIYs I've seen don't bother putting them back in... I'm wondering if the stock diffuser needs them for secure fitment? Thanks

They fit into the tabs on the diffuser that are located at the valleys (in the above picture just move each one up). There is a lip in each piece that accepts the diffuser tabs. I had IND do the install and helped them with the reinstall a little. We could not reinstall them with the car being on the ground since you need to fit them from behind the bumper. Your hand would need to fit in between the rear of the bumper and the top of exhaust tips. Hard to explain. May be if you had the car up on the lift it could be possible but otherwise I felt we had at best a 5% chance of refitting them. They've been off for at least a week and no issues so far. If someone figures out what they are for and how to refit them please let me know.

I'm guessing it's fine since other DIYs tend to leave them out.
