Can confirm the extra blurbles and gurgles when pressing DSC once and using the car in +/- mode only. When using in auto I did not hear the freebies. Still a cool thing, but hard to tell if there is any extra overall volume at speed.

completely misread your post lol. I thought you were asking if you could change the modes while driving or if you have to be stationary and at neutral

Sorry I don't understand. I've just got my M2.

So when you say after starting the car, you mean just that right and this Easter egg can't be axtivated once warm?
I pressed traction button once when warm and got the loft off burbles but it also said traction was limited!

So is your method preserving full traction somehow or also reducing it down?

Can someone explain to me what this mode is is this MDM?

To add to this, MDM/DSC off mode operates with same cooling parameters as comfort mode. In comfort mode, cooling is less aggressive than in Sport and Sport+ - perfectly normal.

Hey guys. Soon to be an OG M2 owner here.

Is it possible to have the exhaust in this mode permanently? With comfort mode (with traction fully on)?

Do I need to disconnect the flap controllers?

It isn't a matter of the exhaust valves being open or closed, it is a matter of tuning. The only way to get similar burble in another mode is to get a flash tune that alters the maps for each mode.

There is a plug you can pull off the exhaust valve to leave it open regardless of mode. Just look under the car near the rear muffler. The drivers side if I remember correctly.

Which sucks because it's obvious that most everyone would want these additional decel-pops in Sport/Sport+ because of the significantly better throttle response.

I guess we can't really have our cake and eat it too.

Thanks for this Yellowflash21. I can't wait to try this out tomorrow.

Anyone able to advise on the long-term implication of this? Burnt-out catalytic converters anyone? Usually extreme happiness comes at a cost .

I'm finding the burbles not that loud or pronounced in traction mode in my manual M2? Is this likely due to the engine not being warmed up enough?

Could this be due to a faulty exhaust valve?

I hear some burbles but they only sound like they're coming from the right hand side? Would be great to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

I also find the burbles a lot more intense with traction disabled, we are lucky the zf8 speed takes away burbles in bootmod3 with traction disabled

Thanks OP for sharing this trick. Works perfectly on my 2017 M2 with MPE. Now I don’t even need to look for the exhaust remote when I want to hear some burbles.

Not going to read all 10 pages of comments on my this bs but the $300 OBD exhaust valve controller is best investment ever. And should be every owners 1st mod. 94.3% of owners don't know that in efficiency (not comfort) the valve opens under heavy pressure load and in sport+ the valve is closed until high rpm. The permanent open setting on controller changes your life. You can open valve and then disconnect connection to car like some cheap asses do but when your cold start and want to be respectable or see a cop, it's nice to have a 1 second silencer.

Please let me know if you are following this post and someone has already touched on this subject because surprisingly I haven't met a single enthusiast who knows how stock exhaust valve controls work.

New OG M2 owner here... Before the M2, I thought it was annoying when I heard other cars popping. Now, somehow I am addicted to hearing my car pop, especially in this mode and with the Dinan exhaust (which made the pops louder).

Love it.
