European Delivery Question

Is there a way to tell if your car is slated for ED from the Track My BMW page or somewhere?

I received my production number (m2c) today and being all excited, I decided to call BMW Genius to see what all else I could find out about my order. They were able to tell me some cool things, but what worries me is that they didn't see my order marked for ED.

I mean, my sales rep knows that I want ED and he's even taken 3 availability dates from me, so it should be good, but the paranoid side of me is not liking how things didn't match up on both ends (sales rep vs bmw genius).

I can't tell if there's a mix up on my order or if things just haven't updated yet or something. You know what I mean?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ask for your VIR (vehicle inquiry report) - at the top it will say T - tourist reserved

Also, please note that it takes the system time to reflect your ED preference. If your dates were just submitted today, I would wait a handful of days and check again. OR do the classic hang up and call BMW Genius again. Some of them do not know what they are talking about. Went through this for our F80.

BMW Genius is actually a part of BMWNA that has access to the system for order tracking etc. IIRC Bimmer David is just some guy who is a CA or manager or something that does things for members in the hopes of getting a sale. He usually cannot so much more than your CA can do.

Nope. Bummer David is a straight up guy that has helped a lot of owners on here. No need to freak out. Just don't be surprised if he tries to get a sale from you down the line hahaha.

Yeah, sorry as long as it says "tourist" that means ED. I was trying remember exactly what it said but remembered that is did say Tourist.

As others have stated have your Salesman give you your build sheet with production number.

It will say this.

Priority: R-Tourist Reserved

As least this is what he says for me on my M2c Vehicle Inquiry Build Sheet.

Guy two posts above me has Priority 0 wonder what the difference is between 0 and R?

I don't believe you can tell anything about your purchase being set up for ED from the My BMW page - I sure couldn't < a year ago. As others have said, your CA can show you a VIR. Also, you'll have to do an ED Purchase Order & you can't miss that.

Best resource for ED info isn't Genius - it's BMW NA Special Sales (they are the ED folks) - call 1-800-932-0831. I found Genius not too helpful in the ED process, not even tracking re-delivery after ED.

) is just another CA - I assume your CA's name is not David A... He did an awesome job getting me a new 335i 6 years ago, back when he was still in MD (now in CA), but he screwed me over last year, left me hanging & straight-up disappeared on me in June '17 after assuring me everything would be fine when I first contacted him about an M2 in January '17 (and in March, and all the way along into mid-June

).

At any rate, you already have a production number so no harm done sharing info with him.

He's back at Northwest BMW in MD again. I contacted him as well several months ago via a solid referral and he promised me several times both on IG and on email that he would contact me as soon as he is ready to start a list for M2C and take my deposit. He disappeared on me as well and stopped replying my emails. There are several great reviews about him but it didn't work out for me.

Maybe I'll run into him - I'm only 6 min up the street from Northwest, where I took courtesy delivery in Nov and got my break-in service in April.
