I covered my M2 today with e46 m3 cover , rear is loose but at the front is very tight. I guess M2 is the new M3. What do you guys think?

Looks good to me. The M2 is almost the same size as an E46 M3.

These are probably correct, but as someone who used to professionally comb the internet for car data, auto-data.net is super unreliable as a general rule. I don’t think a human being compiles their numbers, pretty sure it’s an automated script that searches for numbers from other websites and then puts them on auto-data.net

Probably true-- but they're close enough for government work.

When I was researching the M2C before purchase, I ran numbers from a bunch of sites referencing the e46 M3 and I remember being struck by how similar they were-- I went down the rabbit hole when someone said "The M2C is the old M3."

These numbers might be off a quarter inch here and there, but they're close enough to show that the f87 M2C and e46 M3 are very, very close dimensionally.

I have both. According to owner's manuals, below are dimensions of E46M3 and F87M2. Even though numbers say the biggest difference is the width between them but the part I notice more is the height. My M3 is lowered than stock though.

2005 m3 54.0h 176.9l 70.1w 75.7w with mirror
2018 m2 55.5h 176.2l 73.0w 78.1w with mirror

It’s the height I notice most. But those sexy hips make up for it

An E36 cover works as well!
