Thanks guys. I intended to go with the Dinan route since my first objection is to rid the unsightly muffler and not spending a fortune on an exhaust. Always keep my car more than 8 years

Do you know who makes the BMW M Performance exhaust?

$2200 for full cat-back appropriately recessed vs $4k+ for still hangs too low axle back seems kind of like a no brainer, but will reserve my final opinion until I actually hear the Dinan in person.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dinan has trouble keeping up with demand at that price...

Performance gain and weight savings should honestly of little importance percentage-wise in a car that already weighs this much and has this much power, particularly if tuned. For me, it is way more about the aural pleasure.

Although a $7k Akrapovich system sounds good and reduces weight some, I think the primary joy in ownership would be bragging rights.

Sweet humble brag

Forget the M2C, how does that GT3 sound.

And is the roll cage a custom color or they come stock like that?

GT3 is amazing. It has a Competition Motorsport (CMS) center muffler bypass. The roll bar is powder coated matched to the exterior Lichtgrün paint. Roll bar is also CMS. Unfortunately the clubsport package with rollbar is not available from factory in North America.
Honestly, the M2 comp is an awesome car and I really like the MPE exhaust the more I drive it. I think it needs break in because it sounds much different now 600 miles in than it did right at the start.

BMW makes them (or their nameless component supplier to be more accurate). Though I recall they were co-developed with Akropovic but that may be wrong as they sound a bit different and I think read that on the forum, thus unreliable.

That's why I asked. I heard Akrapovic as well and not on this forum.

Go for the Dinan or wait for Active Autowerke to release their new equal length system. AA > All others

Can someone share a better sound clip of Dinan than their advertisement which is more background music than actual exhaust. Such a counterproductive add. I'm torn between Dinan and AA full exhaust system. Thanks

The MPEs for the F8Xs are made by Eberspächer Prototechnik (not Akrapovic)

MPE for sure. Low growl at low rpms, high pitch wailing above 4k rpm, and quite in comfort mode. It's how the car is meant to sound. I'm convinced the titanium is a huge contributor to these attributes.

Folks who have actually experienced or listened to Dinan and AA exhaust, ( other than just videos) can you have input if AA is worth the price difference. I'm really having hard time to decide and no way to listen in person.

Unfortunately Dinan promo video has a lot of background music than actual exhaust sound that does not help. Also is there any meaningful difference in hp or tq gain one vs another.

Any help will be appreciated

In reality there is no hp gain from a catback exhaust. Some claim 5 hp but it is totally unproven.

Yes that's the one I'm talking about, I guess the true exhaust sound is between 50-58 sec on Dinan video.

This was AA clip provided by BAN_M2C.

The guy you quoted is one of the best guys to purchase from on the forum.

If the Dinan mated with AA mid, would be the perfect system.
