Used ‘17 M2 with exterior door moldings??

My brother is looking at a 2017 M2 and we just noticed that it has molding strips on the doors and front part of the rear quarter panels. On top of not being a fan, were these even an option (factory or dealer-installed)??

Have the dealer remove them. Ugly.

This is quite peculiar. The strips seems to be color matched which is way more effort than the typical pep boy special.

But no, not a factory option.

yeah someone really didn't want door dings and went to a lot of trouble to have them color matched. should be able to come off with a little heat. prob have to buff the doors.

Dealer likely wont want to risk paint damage removing. Use it as a negotiation point and remove then buff yourself.

Make it a plus for you, get it cheaper and also know this car likely had an older/elderly owner.
