I think that part of the road is concrete, so that may be why i was hearing the tires when they're normally pretty quiet.
What's the mileage on your car? For me, MDM mode sport plus throttle and redlined 2nd gear, no tire squeak or ass wiggle. My car has less than 4000miles on it.

This is the first time I redline this car and to be honest I was quite disappointed.

I've definitely had the ass slide out in Sport+

First time I was really pushing it in 2nd gear taking a 90 degree left turn. Nobody around and very wide intersection so it was an intentional test just to see how the car behaves. I'm still learning her, and test it when I can.

But I'd say in general driving around town "normally" in Sport+ isn't anything to worry about unless your tires are spent. It's hard for me to see a scenario where you'd lose the rear end unless you were driving like a jackass.

When I get into the mountain twistys though I usually leave her in Sport. I have a lot of respect for this car and don't really need the throttle response in those circumstances, so I figure better safe than sorry.

Whatever the case, love this car. And definitely NOT underwhelmed by her

I think around 7k miles? Again, not saying the car was doing a burnout, just that the tires were right up against the limits of grip, the point where I could hear them struggling.

With a DCT M2C, I've definitely squawked the tires going into second and I think I've done it from a roll in second (~40ish mph, 4k RPM) such as slowing for a car turning off, dropping a few gears and punching it. I don't think it can do it in 3rd or speeds much higher than that.

I had an F10 M5 DCT, 560 hp and got tire spin 1-2, 2-3, and a chirp 3-4 at near 100 mph! That was with sucky P-Zero tires. Switching to PS4S definitely helped it. Forget spinning tires in the 460hp M550i with xDrive, ain't going to happen!

On stock 265 PSS rear in MDM, Sport+, my m2c either wobbles or go sideways when full throttling in 1st & 2nd.

On 285/30 Bridgestone S007, the car can still wheel spin in 1st & 2ndbut track straight. Loads of fun. Stock PSS is crap in the dry. Sidewall is too
soft and spongy.

And the stock rears just aren’t wide enough. It was that way with my F80 and IS that way with my wifey’s OG M2.

They’re under-tired for sure. I get chirping all the time in at least second in the M2....

To the OP, I also have been underwhelmed by M2C test drives, driven back to back with the OG M2 and F80. Just didn’t feel as savage as the F80 ZCP version of the S55....

I suppose it's all relative to what you're used to and what your expectations are.

Personally I fell in love with the M2C the very first time I drove it. Having become disenchanted with BMWs since the F-chassis launched and the G-models not being much better to drive, the M2C was a very welcome change. It feels raw, it feels visceral, it feels...alive. Yes the steering isn't E92 good, but by EPS standards it's quite tight and natural-feeling to me.

The M2 just brings back all the memories of the BMWs I grew up loving. It has that special ingredient those cars had.
