Is this a baseline for further mods?

Yes, I plan on getting a tune and catless DP's in the future. Shop said that's going to be worth another close to 100whp on these cars.

Those are some nice numbers. Thank you for posting this.

So 489 HP and TQ at the engine and you are showing an average 13% drivetrain loss. This falls well within the average 10-18% loss.

Now I question, if the M2C S55 engine is 'detuned' from the M4, does anyone have dyno numbers for a stock M4?

So many questions? lol

I’ve seen M4’s dyno around 440whp so they still dyno slightly higher than M2C’s.

Thank you for the info. So with 13% loss that would put the M4 around 506 at the engine.

506 - 489 = 17 hp difference at the engine. That is not much of a detune.

Assume these results are from a Dynojet? My stock MC2 was recently tested on a Mustang Dyno and was measured at 389 whp and 402 wt

The shop said that their dyno measures right between a mustang dyno and a dyno jet. So slightly lower than a dynojet and slightly higher than a mustang dyno.

Are you talking about the power curve dropping off fast after 6000rpm?

Yeah, It seems like power drops hard after 5500 revs. That would be the case if you're tuning aggressively and maxing out the stock turbos with e85 or something, but a stock motor (or even with a stage 1 or 2 tune) pulls to redline.

I'm not sure why that is. I bought the car with 3k miles on it from BMW and it's got a locked DME so should be bone stock.

Also, they only had one fan blow and they forgot to turn it on for the first run so maybe it wasn't enough.

It is possible that for 2020 BMW unlock more horsepower to be more competitive with the other cars in the segment.
