Baby Dragon got to stretch her legs on the dyno today...not bad for stock intake. Only mods are exhaust and flex fuel.

question for you about the flex fuel sensor... where and how does it wire into the DME? does in just get spliced into existing wiring somewhere? or is there an unused plug/port on the DME that gets utilized?

The sensor first plugs into the Zeitronix ECA Canbus device which is attached to the BMW Can Hi and Lo connections. There are various locations that can be used depending on the installers preference.

I would like to try this but don't know how difficult it would be to get the resonators in without touching the diff. How much clearance between the resonators you added and the diff? Does the diff move at all? Isn't it attached with rubber bushings?

It was all mocked up on the car first before welding and you can see that the mounts are on the resonators now. There is about an inch or more clearance; plenty. I've put around 800miles on the setup with no issues and it sounds even smoother after it broke in. Find a good fabricator or exhaust shop to do it and you'll be golden.

Any benefit in your opinion to your exhaust setup minus the Downpipes? I prefer not to go to catless and was going to install AA mid with the resonators you did.

AA midpipe adds a bit since it removes secondary cats, resonators just for sound.

Why is this not a factory color?

List of mods thus far:

Full wrap in 3M Dragon Fire Red, all carbon fiber coated in XPEL Ultimate Clear
Glanz Ceramic Coating
XPEL XR+ 35% Tint
Clearplex Windscreen Protector
M Performance 763M Wheels with MPSC2 Tires (AutoPro Ceramic Coated with black stems and weights)
M Performance Front Lip
M Performance Side Skirts
M Performance Diffuser
Shuttergang Labs CS Style Spoiler
Acexxon Slotted Rear Reflector Insert
MaximumPSI Crank Hub (Installed by Lang Racing)
VRSF Downpipes
AA Midpipe
AeroTurbine TR252 Resonators
Cerakoted Exhaust by High-Tech Coatings
ECUTEK RaceRom(Tuning by Ian@Bend Calibration - Same tuner as my E46 M3 and long time friend)
Flex Sensor and Zeitronix ECA2 Canbus (Sends ethanol content to DME)
Upgraded -6AN PTFE Stainless braided fuel line
Bimmercode coding (ASD deleted before first startup along with a bunch of other functional improvements)
MMR Performance Aluminium Billet Gear Shift Paddle Set

First track session at Big Willow back in January (Oil slick previously spread by corvette on Turn 8); This was my last session of the day and sloppy lines but was having a great time with the car. My best sessions were 1:38 with plenty to improve.

Took some more photos out at Supercars by the Beach (cars and coffee) and added MMR Shift Paddles. I originally was interested in the Pedal Haus Paddles but these peaked my interest. They're definitely an improvement. I'll keep a lookout for the Pedal Haus ones to compare as I've always been a big fan of their products and will likely get their pedals like I have in my E46 M3.

Baseline Dyno - AA Midpipe with Shell 91ACN Fuel in SAE format (Lower than STD, but is preferred format)

Some new toys...ECUTEK with tuning by Bend Calibration:

Getting the MaxPSI Crank Hub installed at Lang Racing:

Some folks have mentioned they don't like to see the muffler hanging below the rear diffuser of the car. Many have used black high temp paint on the muffler. I've gone a different route with same visual result...here is a teaser:

Here's the cerakoted muffler from the back side:

Without Lightbar:

With Lightbar:

Here is a video of Racerom Map Switching on Ecutek:

Also some revs of non-burble sport+ mode with AA Mid and VRSF DP's:

Flex sensor and upgraded Stainless Braided PTFE fuel line installed along with Zeitronix ECA2 Can Bus device which taps into the BMW CAN to send the flex content to the DME for on the fly calculations which is only possible through ECUTEK RaceRom software.

I made a huge improvement to the exhaust...added a couple Aero Turbine resonators! Videos don't really do it any justice but it's removed the last bit of rasp that was present and replaced it with a nice snarl and smoother tone. With more miles, the resonators have started breaking in and continue to make it sound better...I might be biased but this is definitely the best S55 twin turbo exhaust note I've ever heard...no more weedwacker rasp.

Full setup: VRSF Downpipes, Active Autowerke Midpipe, AeroTurbine TR252 Resonators with OE rear muffler.

Took some iPhone driveby videos to try and capture the sound of the exhaust with the resonators:

Baby Dragon got to stretch her legs finally...not bad for stock intake. Only mods are exhaust and flex fuel.

Damn, love everything about this build. Looks so good in red. You also nailed the exhaust sound, best I heard yet I think.

So yesterday I ordered some goodies for the suspension part of my build to start:

TCKline Double Adjustable Coilover Kit with Camber plates 500f/700r
H&R Front and Rear Sway Bars
Bimmerworld Rear Camber Arm Bearing Kit
SPL Front Lower Control Arms
SPL Front Tension Rods
SPL Front Endlinks
SPL Bumpsteer Adjustable Tie Rod Ends
SPL Rear Toe Links with Eccentric Lockout
SPL Rear Upper Arms
SPL Rear Traction Links
SPL Rear Swaybar Endlinks
Powerflex Diff Bushings (Front and Rear) - Street Durometer
Bimmerworld Premium Wheel Studs

Some items are waiting for stock to come back in so I don't have an eta but a rough guess is a month. Will update once they come in and start going on the car.

Later plans once everything is installed and suspension is settled is to get the whole car corner balance aligned at West End Alignment in SoCal; great guys there if anyone is looking for a proper corner balance alignment.

I usually take our bikes on the back of my X5 but I got the BMW racks for my M2C since I love driving it so much.

Thanks! I'm still waiting to install the SPL Parts and swaybars for when my coilovers show up. No ETA at the moment as the Rona has put a hamper on that. Will update once I've got the suspension installed, dialled in and corner balanced.

I ended up getting a 5000slx 12V Quickjack the other day as Costco had a deal and I got a pricematch.

Now time to swap over the RE71R's and get started on suspension parts one of these days. Still waiting for my coilovers. Maybe two weeks if shipments start rolling through.
