Flat tire!!!

Argh! Got a flat today, no idea how....

Do we know, are the Cup 2's on these cars special for BMW or will a replacement cup 2 ordered from anywhere be fine to fix this?

At least the wheel didn't get effed?

They are special for BMW. If you buy them from elsewhere, ensure that they have the star logo. Any luck that the puncture is towards the center and it can be repaired? I had a tire repaired on my SVR and never had any issue with the tire. Initially I was concerned that it was an extreme performance tire.

These are the old ones. Make sure they're 240 treadwear and the cup2 connect (there's 2 types of BMW star cup2 even with 240 treadwear)

Happy to help, went through the same search a couple weeks ago.
At least now you get TireRack's road hazard protection included.

Better now than later so you can get away with replacing just 1. I drove over broken glass 200 miles and thankfully dodged a bullet.

I don't believe protection applies to the Cup 2.

Interesting, thank you for pointing that out, good to know beforehand. I just assumed they offered it for every tire they had.

EDIT: So went looking, Costco will honor their 5-year road hazard protection and they have the tire in OE fitment and size for the CS

Man, that sucks! Me too! Got this as I got home from picking the car up from the dealership on the PS Cup 2. Almost had a cardiac event. haha. Fortunately, for me, it was a very shallow screw and it does not leak.

Total bummer but certainly a positive that you were able to get a proper replacement though!

Do you plan to drive them at 30 mph the entire 15k miles, because otherwise I don't know how could get anywhere near 10k if you're lucky?

So 10k miles is typical for cup 2s? I was originally bummed my car didn't have cup 2s but the more I hear about them I feel like PSS is the better choice for me.

The Cup2 Connects have a 240 treadwear rating vs 180 for regular the regular Cup2. So they should last longer but they're so new it's hard to know exactly what sort of mileage to expect out of them.

I'm willing to bet they won't last longer than 10 thou

The Cup2C rubber is so soft you could just about use it as margarine

Good choice. Plugs are a bad idea in general (vs patch) unless for emergency/roadside. Some tire shops won't repair Cup2 or similar at all. I know I wouldn't.
