Did no-one at BMW Welt recommend for your M2 to fuel at least 98 RON ("Super Plus") in Europe (= 89/90 MON or 93/94 AKI in the US) rather than 95 RON ("Super") ? Octane rating overview: see here. Not saying that you damaged your engine, but the performance of your car has not been 100%. Only when you're really running on empty and there's nowhere at least RON 98 available, refuel a few liter of RON 95 allowing you to get to a fuel station where they have at least RON 98 for a full refill to regain optimal performance of your M car. Picture I took last Sunday of fuel prices in Italy (highest of Europe, especially those along the highway): if you want that Agip/ENI fuel station to refuel your car for you ("Servito" = "Serviced") with "Blu Super+ (100 octane)": €2.032 per liter = ± $2.28 ! If you wanted to refuel yourself ("Fai da te" = "Done by you/yourself"), it was still €2.01.

Wow! Well lesson learned! :
I did fill up twice after this with the V-power so hopefully I burned through it all already!

As commented above, if you refuel in Italy at highway fuel stations you usually got the choice for exactly the same fuel between "Servito" (serviced; most expensive price) and "Fai da te" or "Self" (you do it). I already encountered the situation that the 98/100 RON "Self" was locked with a chain (+ a hand-written "guasto" or "esaurito" paper note = "out of order" or "empty"), unlike their 98/100 RON "Servito" pump. Then you ask yourself: either the underground fuel tank is truly empty (as most prefer fueling at the already expensive "Self") or it's not empty at all but just a cheap trick by the fuel station to force you to pay the top price at their "Servito" 98/100 RON pump. Furthermore, it's possible, but not easy, to find 98/100 RON outside the highways in Italy.
