The N55 DME is a MEVD172G, however it is a different hardware number (both BMW and Bosch numbers) and were not installed on S55. Using an N55 DME is setting you up for many incompatibilities.
Looking for a bit of help here, I have a 2021 m2c and I've had the dme cloned and I'm experiencing problems with 02 sensors. Post cat 02 to be precise, it keeps blowing (had two replacements) anyway, tried another cloned dme and still the same problem. Any advice here would be massively appreciated.
Did you manage to get this resolved? I would have thought the clone isn't the issue as it's just a copy of the original.

I have a 2020 m2c in the uk with the same dme lock issue, production date in Aug 2020 and ver F020-20-07-525. Enabled can you support please? Where does one get started?

If you know a workshop that has tools to read on the bench, I know a person who can code online without having to send FEM around the world, to read the fem you need a 95128/95256 micro reader.

Prodrive_X , jpet . Circling back on this thread. I've unfortunately tried all the shops I could find in my state of NSW and none of them had a reader 😭.

I had confirmation again that my DME is read/write config. enabled but the boot loader is locked and the current key doesn't match the MY.

Thanks so much for offering assistance though and hope we find the key soon.

I've ordered a JB4 as I was needing the satisfaction of installing my Akrapovic downpipes and Mishimoto charge pipes that have been sitting in storage for the past 6 months 🤣.

Good news.
Ecu of bmw m4 2016 mounted on m2c 2019, without touching fem, works perfectly, 0 dtc.

















I need to do another test tomorrow and I'm done.

To copy from an unlocked DME and paste into another unlocked DME is easy, and it can be done over OBD with enough know-how. However, this wouldn't help anyone with a 2021 DME, as they're completely locked to any type of reading bench or otherwise.

It's a fun test though, especially if someone has a broken original DME that should be replaced.

The old control unit was not copied...
I have loaded a file from another m2c.

Of course it is easy to copy from one to another.
