i think 51-53k base is going to be what its going to end up costing given the M235i is already a very good car. i mean a 1m was what $7-8k more than a 135is so that seems like it'd make sense if you are giving it roughly the same additional equipment
a semi comparable AUDI would be the TT-RS when they offered it (yeah yeah, it only has 2 seats). It was $57k , but it came basically loaded (19" wheels, nappa leather, etc). A fairly optioned M2 at $57k I think seems reasonable. Last edited by hans007; 06-09-2014 at 12:36 AM.. |

No AC. When I lived in south Italy, where temperature is about 40-45° C, I still never used AC, just had open windows. I get ill when I am in an AC room/space.
You want ventilated seats too? Last edited by BMW269; 06-09-2014 at 07:23 AM.. |

You, my friend, are a rare bird...no AC would be a deal breaker for me - this isn't a CSL...

I'll be keeping my 1M but I do hope they make it outrageous looking like they did with the 1M. Those giant flares on that little car are so cool to look at. It makes my e92 M3 look tame in comparison. I am thinking about trading the M3 in for the new one next year though but for some reason like the way the sedan looks better than the coupe so far and I'm a coupe guy.

realistically you'd have to figure they know they'd sell a really small amount of this and it wouldn't be worth the cost. just a random poll , if bmw did make an ultra light M2 CSL like the guy above listed and it cost say $100k, how many of you guys who could afford it would consider it? (what he listed is like, a m235i racing, with a bunch of CF parts and the m235i racing costs ~$80k) I know i'd probably never consider it , but im sure tehres a market out there. a small one. |

Why would 100K for the M2 CSL as I listed about be to much, when it would be the fastest BMW ever built, be faster than more expensive 911CS, R8, M6? Yet many spend 30K for "sh*t" with a BMW badge?

On a similar note, this is kind of my idea with how they can't price the M2 out of control. I mean a base boxster / cayman is $50-52k (+$8-9k for a S). yes its got way less power and standard features than an M2 will. (who knows when the 2.0 turbo engine comes in how this affects this theory depending on pricing) but for most people out there if they are going to spend $60k ish on a car, and you have a low spec porsche and a high spec 2 series. i'd probably get the M2, but the boxster / cayman starts to enter the conversation since its in the same price bracket and that is not something BMW can compete with (the "its a porsche" factor) |

Not running the AC will melt away the interior paint, the car would grow mildew everywhere and be uterly uncomfortable. Believe me, I thought the same when I lived in europe, but you cannot pass AC in southern US if you want to use the car for DD purpose between may and october. July and August, water does not evaporate from your skin, if you get wet, it's definitive. Last edited by Meeni; 06-10-2014 at 06:37 PM.. |
