I just bought this for my OG

Was wondering what others think of the inside finish?

Does the inside need to be trimmed or is that not a issue for airflow?

Also the adapter is clearly marked V1 and the Box says V2 and that's what I ordered

Anybody that's familiar with this inlet know if the adapter to the turbo is Version 1 or a V2 ?

IMO don't trim it, that small edge of silicone won't impede flow in a significant manner. If you trim it you could end up with silicone debris (which is pretty good at sticking to other silicone so it will stick to the inside of the inlet) if you don't clean the inlet well enough, or if you can't access that area well enough you could have small pieces not fully trimmed off and that debris can end up in your engine.

I also do recommend washing out your silicone hose with distilled water it does look a bit dusty.

Your pic shows that the aluminum piece has a sticker indicating V2. That to me, looks like a V2. That's the one you'd want.

It looks like a V2. I think the wall of the metal turbo inlet adapter is a bit thicker on the V1

I'm happy for you man - with my DV (installed at the same time) the car has excellent throttle response and rips on top end. Enjoy.

Agreed. This is a good time to upgrade the diverter valve while you're doing this job.

Sorry just saw your PM, I think the alu adapter ring is a V2 that you have. Like others have said V1 looks chunkier, V2 more svelte.

There really is no reason to bother selling the V1 when the V2 does everything better and costs the same.

Installed the MST Version 2 inlet

Best way to install it is to remove the PCV hose from the valve cover and pre attach it to the billet fitting that attaches to the inlet

Otherwise it's almost impossible to install because you cannot access one screw

With enough finesse I got it to fit together with the intake and have it situated so it's not really touch anything

Heads up MST pre installed the PCV fitting incorrectly causing it to be impossible to attach the set screw that holds it together

Results we're having to start over and fix their ridiculous oversight

An aftermarket intake is overrated for sure

I am impressed with the MST Inlet so far

with a 6" extension or a combination of a few othe extensions (i can't remember what I used) and a swivel join you can reach the t25 screw from near the heat exchanger to oil cooler line. Then you don't have to remove the pcv hose from the valve cover and risk snapping the tabs inside.

Mine had a wiring harness, or some sort of a hose in the way, there's no way I could've done it any other way in my situation

Point taken though because those little tabs inside that sucker are very delicate

I was able to reach my entire arm in and unclip the pcv heater wiring harness.

But yes those pcv hose clips are very brittle, I believe a fuel hose connector remover tool or something similar would be key to easily removing it.
