Which means that standard M2 time would be very close to M2C.
From the dealer, our cars only come with pss not PS4’s.

I thought we were going to get the PS4s. I saw a cayman with the 20” option and it came with ps4s, such a pity.

IMHO PS4S is quiter etc and comfier but I have my doubts on Nordschleife being really much faster(?) for as far as I've read reviews and such. It's not the real successor to the PSS we now have. More an inbetween very good alround sport tyre. But PSS still is ok.

Just my 2 cents...

The PSS offered on the F8X chassis were specifically designed in partnership with Michelin for their respective application. BMW and Michelin will not re-invest in this development for a chassis that is nearing the end of its life. We will however more than likely see the PS4S on the next gen M2/3/4.

In what way would improvements happen if not in Competition or GTS form? Would there be revised changes in power or suspension when comparing a base 2014 M4 to a base 2018 M4?

In any case, I would have thought the marketing group at headquarters would have ensured the M2C would not even encroach on it's big brother in any form. From a price/performance ratio perspective, it might seem they have made the M2C a little bit too good? Granted, there are more amenities to be had in the M4.

Last weekend my friend with is 2017 M2 on PS4s was a full second faster than me on PSS at a small technical track.

That's perfect, no doubt.
But what if the same driver with the same car did the same lap?Different tyres obviously.

Damn impressive obviously.

However it brings me a lot of joy to see the M3 CSL still holding its own against these modern M cars.

Most notably engine, e-diff and EDC tunes were revised over the years and revised dampers have been fitted.

I don't think the M2C is "too good" at all. I find it is perfectly slotted against its competition and within the ///M hierarchy. It offers a very compelling package. As for the M4, there is always the possibility to step up to the Competition Pack or CS for further performance increments.

Why would you give the car to a company that never has better times with someone from alfa that can drive it better? With that great time no need. Hopefully the bmw fanboys dont start pouring out here.

Bitter that the QV did a better time than your vehicle?

No, because it's not an apples-to-apples comparison

Certainly they would not. Because if SA/AM&S would supertest the Giulia QV off the showroom floor it would likely be nowhere close to the Alfa factory time.

While those times are always a great reference, do folks realize how much variable factors, such as ambient temperature or tire heat cycles, affect lap times? I mean those things make a couple seconds difference on a 3 mile track, so figure how much it would do on the Nordschleife. If we truly want to compare down to a few seconds, then they need to run these cars all at the same time, with the same tires, and equal drivers.

Like a said, good reference, but not the last word which car is faster.
