No one is bragging about anything. It did the same time as the M4 Sportauto tested. BMW knocked a couple seconds off their M4 time, with the M2C. In my opinion right where it should be.

Watching the M2C video again and again, those front tires definitely gave up and most likely overheated halfway through. The more i think about it, the more i remember Sport Auto back in the mid 2000's having an obsession to reduce tire pressure on street tires. I believe they like to run 2.0 bar in the rear and 2.5 bar in the fronts on NOS track, unsure what they were running this test. |

As an out of the box car with normal sports tyres it only did 8:05 . Put some semis on M2C and it wil go <7:40 is my guess. Apples & oranges. Cheers Robin |

Wow, I can't believe you're seriously comparing the two vehicles.. : I don't care if a Type R can fly; me and any other sane person would obviously take a Twin Turbo 6, RWD BMW with a 100% locking e-diff anyday over a FWD Honda.. #DUH |

Small correction, as far as I know, Sport Auto never tested the M3cs. The 7:42 time is from the M4cs. You could also add the 7:35 factory lap time for the M4cs .

I have come across many Civic type-Rs at track days, a none have come even close to matching the pace of my old base M4. I know, I know, amateur track days don't mean much, but the pace difference is so important, it is still telling.

And yet Alfa declined to lend a Giulia QV to Sport Auto for them to Supertest around the 'ring. I wonder why that is ?

If I am not mistaken, the first "factory" time they ever published is from the M4 GTS.

It's impressive that Sport Auto was able to come that close to the factory lap time for the M2C. Usually the difference is much more than a mere 2 seconds. Kudos to the SA/AM&S driver .

The fact that this car can have similar times to its big brother (base albeit), already speaks volumes about what the M2C is all about. And to think it is detuned as well.

The M2C is benefitting of 4 years of continuous development of the F8X chassis. I am pretty sure that if they were to retest the latest version of the base M4, it would be slightly faster than the 2014 edition.
