These forums get heated dang you'd think to be able to afford a BMW you'd be pretty busy and wouldn't have enough time to argue on forums lmfao.

Did you see the "Life happens" thread? I think that gentleman put it perfectly. In the end, I suspect we're all on this forum to get away from real life and act like kids again. And, well, kids get into school yard fights! (Well, not anymore. Whenever I take my kids to school now, the teachers will sometimes take 10 minutes to explain to me why my child was crying today - somebody didn't share some toy, or some such crap. My reaction is: "Did my child lose an arm? No? I don't need to know. Please stop talking to me.") It's all good. We're all of us acting like 10 year-olds again! |

Geez, this got heated quickly.
One Driver and GymNut both are saying the same thing but are somehow talking past each other. Street tires are not intended for the track and tend to "Chunk" and shred. Sure, race tires will wear out quickly but street tires can get destroyed in a few hot laps and turn greasy. Since I just picked up a Giulia QV, I thought I would post this video of a Crazy Italian in street clothes running a 7:32. Car is claimed to be stock but regardless if it is, dude is an incredible driver and has balls of steel. Enjoy! Bonus points for almost killing himself a dozen times and extra bonus points for the "Italian Engineering" camera duct taped to the dash. Last edited by mikeric; 10-15-2018 at 02:23 PM.. |

Dude, now that you have the Giulia, YOU need to go to the ring and do this! I want nothing less than a 7:31 time out of you, man! |

7:50-7:58 those are pig numbers
Alfa was asleep for 20 years and all of a sudden made a car that out performs 99% of BMW's lineup haha BMW is failing and not moving in the right direction |

Pig numbers
When you've actually been driving on the NS, you'd say 7:50/7:52 is pretty decent for a '400 HP' and 1600KG rwd car with PSS. And that's an understatement. Alfa QV, 7:32 was a great lap. For a totally stock out of the box car more than impressive. But for some strange reason Alfa wouldn't lend SportAuto that car to try it on the Ring in the professional hands of mr Gebhardt.... I'm still contemplating why that is? Cheers Robin |

And what about supercar slayer Alfa 4C, lightweight, driver oriented like a Lotus etcetera.
8:05 in the hands of C. Gebhardt. General Alfisti's comments: "Nordschleife laptimes aren't imporant blablabla, it's about the driving experience...." But now with the QV they certainly are. Cheers Robin |

I think the Giulia QV is fantastic and it was on my list. But I’d have the M2C any day of the week. Couldn’t care if it was 24 hours faster. |

Time to dump the brand, then; after all, nothing is more important to commuters nose-to-tail in traffic than a hot ring lap in a slightly different version of their car. Nothing.

If anyone is buying a car based solely on its Ring lap times... lets just say they are special.
Both the M2C and the QF are amazing cars and I wish I could have one of each. I would also like a GT3 and a F40 and a MX-5 etc. Point is, we are all car guys here, who cares! both cars are fast, both are amazing, and both have their faults. I think people who are blindly loyal to one brand are missing out on much of what life has to offer. |

This is exactly why AR has my attention and looking forward to a possible revision of the QV and the 2dr version.
