I understand how wonderful a 6speed manual gearbox is however, it just wasn't the transmission i wanted for the M2. I plan on using the m2 as more of a commuter/ weekend dinner date/ errand car and had future plans of buying a 6 speed e36/46 for a track focused fun car that I wouldn't mind trashing around a bit. However, don't get me wrong, the dct transmission is amazing and still allows you to fully experience what the car has to offer and still be as engaged as a driver. I must also add that doesn't mean i won't have fun in a dct m2!

The only reason I want others, in general, to pick 6MT is to show BMW a decent take rate for manual transmissions in this car so they don't stop making them entirely. It's a point that has been made several times by journalist reviewers.

But each individual driver should of course get what he or she wants, no problem with that at all. And that DCT is not exactly a slush box--it shifts just fine, as I verified earlier this week

Thanks man, I actually had difficulty sleeping the couple nights before taking delivery. But now that I have here with me, I can sleep a little bit better. lol

Don't let anyone talk you down on age. Work had and play hard. I had an Audi S4 at 21 (still own it) and picked up a brand new F80 at 28. Enjoy the car in good health.

+1 dude...I got a brand new F80 at 25...bought my first brand new Bimmer at 23 and first used Bimmer at 20. Age is nothing but a number....BTW much congrats to the OP.
