What is it about this car...
Just curious, what aspect of the M2C do you like the most?

The F87 has a rare (these days) combination of some of the best BMW M traits: small(ish), RWD, MT, somewhat stealth, great handling...just overall so fun to drive.

I've had 4 BMWs and many higher end cars and I still can't put my finger on why this car (and the 1M) make me feel so giddy when I drive it...

I'm still trying to figure it out. I've never kept a car over a year, and it has never bothered me to sell a car. This one has been a different story. Every time I decide its time to let it go, either I can't bring myself to actually sell it, or the person that was supposed to buy it flakes out and I decide its a "sign" and completely abandon the idea. My theory is that the car does so many things right, that there really isn't a replacement out there that doesn't cost at least twice as much, and that's what keeps me going.

Still, the car on paper should not generate the constant grin I get when driving it...IMHO of course.

The F87 M2C has the perfect balance of an old-school BMW M feel, with just enough modern upgrades to make it incredibly fun, fast and nimble. And it's got to be one of the prettiest M cars ever made.
Other bonuses ... Actual buttons to do most things, and not too much touch-screen interaction. A proper handbrake that makes a cool old-fashioned ratcheting sound! Imagine that! Enough HP and torque to scare my wife on date nights ... and scare me when I really open it up on solo rides. I also like a famously German car to be made in Germany, the same way I'd want a Rolex made in Switzerland, not Norway, for example. For the M2, that's no longer the case, of course. |

Its the perfect package, really. Sporty, small, stunningly beautiful, fast, fun to drive, and so under the radar. It has every thing you need and nothing more. It is/was also only recognized by enthusiasts whose first goal is to have a fun drive. I just does everything so well.
But yeah, I'm almost 3.5 years in and I love this car more than I did on day 1. I dont know what it is but it always spoke to me and it's not going anywhere, and its still my most favorite car to drive. I will not be selling it. |

I've never owned a sporty car - this is my first, so I have a lot of attachment. I love the way it feels tight around me. Very planted and responsive, everything is close and easy. It's like life's reward for being 5'8". Also enough modern without being total futuristic. My challenge is to enjoy it and not lose it, because when they say money can't buy you happiness, they are lying.

It’s so hard to choose just one thing, but if I had to, I would say the driving experience.
It reminds me of that quote from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: “It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.” |

as everyone said. its just the perfect blend of old school and new. I came from an F80 and its refreshing to have just one good suspension mode that you don't need to fiddle with. just works everywhere. firm, but well damped. the handling feels alive even at normal road speeds. and you can still cruise at triple digits easily if you want. tech? heated seats, wheel, idrive, and a decent stereo. all i need. back seats can be used in a pinch by actual adults too. also nice that you can have a supercar level dct, or an old school manual... while modern bmws and others are going with cheap slushboxes.

I was contemplating a thread like this for a while since we have "what do you dislike about your M2" thread already.
One of the things I really like about the car is the relative simplicity of it all. I feel this is one of BMW's most "car" cars |

Same here. I forgot to mention how awesome the DCT is in this car. I'm in manual mode 100% of the time and its a real experience (have decades of manual driving experience)

It's a great do-it-all car. You can take it to the track and then pick up groceries on the way home. Understated and aggressive at the same time. Makes sporty noises. RWD (of course). Manual. Just the right size. I could go on and on...

You can't go wrong keeping the M2C - it's an excellent overall package with minimal modern electronics in the cockpit. It was ascetically well designed and was already an instant classic with minimal tech.
The only problem is not having the garage space or wallet for an additional vehicle. |

I find it close to par with my PDK models but the p-cars are so well sorted that the fun factor isn't as high if that makes any sense...

Its a 6 Speed, RWD torque monster in a classically handsome muscular design that looks good on a race track and a night out with your SO.
