So it's all cosmetic then. No real performance enhancements.

My main question on this car...are all the improvements going to be worth the - I believe - significantly increased price???

Those are probably the lightest performance seats in any car with full side bolstering.

I'm thinking the standard seats with pink stitching would be nice.

PS vs. HP

For those in Illinois, that would not be Umerican horsepower. 410 PS (German) is 405 HP (Umerican) just like the current M2 is 370 PS and 365 HP.

If VIN sheets quote 302 kW as power output figure, then it will be at least 302 kW.

As we know, some official base M2 figures:
  • max output: 272 kW = 370 hp (metric) or 365 hp (mech [USA]) @ 6500 rpm
  • max torque: 500 (465+35) Nm = 369 (343+26) lb-ft @ 1400-5560 rpm
Akrapovič tested a stock M2 (2016) (i.e. before fitting their exhaust). Their test results (see here):
  • max output: 284.3 kW = 386.5 hp (metric) or 381.2 hp (mech [USA]) @ 5500 rpm
    = 272 kW + 4.5221%
  • max torque: 558.8 Nm = 412.1 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm
    = 500 Nm + 11.76%
M2 Competition:
  • max output: 302 kW = 410.6 hp (metric) or 405 hp (mech [USA])
Purely hypothetical exercise: if exactly the same factor as measured by Akrapovič for the base M2 would apply for the M2 Competition, you get the following results:
  • max output: 302 kW + 4.5221% = 315.66 kW = 429.2 hp (metric) or 423.3 hp (mech [USA])

Whatever the official numbers are it really should be compared to civic M2 against the M2 C on the dyno to find the real difference. I suspect the gap is going to be a lot bigger than the difference in the official numbers, but we won't know until people have the cars.

Looks like "Civic M2" has become part of the lexicon around here. Man, that's just cold, lol.
