I'm just using the stock filter. Is that still the thing to do? I'm not interested in more hp, just cleaner air.

The stock filter is really really good… I personally use an AFE Dry Drop In and it slightly increases audibles and is great at filtering

It's been time for a little love for my M2's 437M wheels.
First off was some wheel repair. Shout out to Color Pro Auto in the San Francisco East Bay Area for fantastic repair job for some curb rash (I took a corner too sharply in the Costco parking lot and dragged the rear passenger wheel along a curb ). And then I received BMW floating wheel center caps for Christmas. I love having all the BMW logos on the wheels stay right side up! I used some 3M 30 lb double-sided mounting tape to pop out the stock center wheel caps. After that, the floating wheel caps popped right in. See this YouTube short for a preview of how nice they look: https://m.youtube.com/shorts/4NaCDUDR7Ag |

Not to low to the ground…that sounds great. I want a lip, but Im sick of scraping (used to have a slammed NA Miata as a fun car).
May have to check this lip out. |

Yes, they actually came with tint but I just replaced them with OEM Euro spec blackline taillights (30% OEM tint) and I added a reverse light tint overlay. I didn’t want the riced out tint anymore and wanted a more OEM + look. I’m actually removing the headlight tint as well and getting my headlights retrofitted with the Bavgruppe lenses and blacked out housing. I never liked the tint that came on the car but kept it on till I knew it was time to change it out.

I’m worried about breaking this lip, but I think I’ll be fine. I’ve seen way lower cars run lips and be fine. This lip probably drops an inch in clearance. Without the lip the lowest point was 4.75 inches so I’m probably around 3.75 now. The lip is above the flaps that are underneath the bumper by like half an inch and I don’t scrap the flaps, I should be fine

Not entirely sure because I had a shop do it while I’m away since I’m on a time crunch to get it done before coming back from college winter break. I’d assume it’s relatively easy though. I believe it uses OEM bolting

new clip installed
Quote:
I picked up a new clip from the local dealership: $13 w/BMWCCA discount. I had to use some needle nose pliers to get enough leverage to pop the new clip into place. I don't think the new one will be falling out anytime soon. The dealership really earned their markup on this one. The same clip is $8 from FCP Euro, but with the $7 shipping, ends up being even more expensive than the local dealership's parts dept discount price. |
