Removed my factory engine cover and the insulation between the engine cover and the firewall

Relocated two 13mm support pins to different locations to run a different engine cover and spent well over an hour cleaning in great detail

I'd like to do that very thing, except I don't like the engine cover at all, I'd rather run it naked.

In fact, I hate all the under-hood plastic and how it holds in all the heat, which will, over time, make all the other plastic brittle to cracking.

Every time I pull in my garage I open my hood for a few hours to let the heat dissipate to help mitigate how the heat is baking all the plastic bits.

It's a good rule to open the hood in general

I agree with your madness and also like the heated garage function during the colder months

The only thing that gives me pause is that the car knows when the hood is up, so I wonder if it's trickling the battery down a bit. You never know with these smart ass cars these days!

The car will Shut down power for an example if you leave your trunk open there's a light in your trunk but it'll kill that off within like four minutes

However if you look at the photo of my hood open you'll see my car is plugged into the battery tender

That's the first thing I do is pull the car in the garage open the hood and plug the battery in

Gloss. Wanted it to match the gloss Eventuri. Still developing the look. I love off season projects. Got a few irons in the fire. You know how I value your input.

Yeah I love an exposed engine I threw my stock engine cover in the trash last night

I absolutely agree. I'd leave it exposed, but I have a vented hood and worried about possible water contamination of the ignition coils. Bold move tossing the stock cover away. I keep everything because for some reason I always end up needing it later for whatever reason and kick myself for throwing it away.

It fell off the top shelf in my garage so I wasn't planning to toss it

But I decided to turn it into an opportunity and make myself feel a bit better in the process
