BMW M2 Stage 2 Engine Start Problems

Hello everyone! I just tuned my car last week, everything works great except the engine start. The car actually has: DP, Intake, Charge and Boost Pipes, Bigger Intercooler, and the Active Autowerke stage 2 tune. In the tune we put the Cold Start Delete, and the thing is that when I start the car in the morning the revs go up, then go really down (almost turning off) and then everything is normal.... They have told me that I need to update the DME software, but I'm afraid of doing this and get everything reset... anyone has or had this problem??

Ouch. I am afraid of doing those mods when the car is still under warranty.

I hope someone can help you.

I would try to remove the cold start delete imo that is probably the issue. I also have an AA tune but no cold start delete and I have not run into any problems.

I had a simular issue with BM3 when disabling cold start. It would drop to really low RPMs after the "GTS Roar".

I ended up just turning cold start back on and setting a bit low RPM point than stock.

OP, I had a similar issue with the Dinan tune on M2C. They made some adjustments that reduced the issue, but it still isn't as smooth as stock.

If I had to take an educated guess, disabling the cold start is causing the engine, possible the MAF or idle sensor, to act wonky manner because it's attempting over-right the cold start bypass command..

I'm guessing better tuning of the software map, to sync with the new operation and current mods, should solve the issue..

OP, if you want to bypass a dealer software update, you next option is probably to find someone to that can create and upload a specific tune, for your setup and adjust the idle accordingly.

My car still revved up during cold start. Also, I just realized OP has the N55 M2 not s55 M2C like me.

Hey OP try to remove cold start delete. If you're worried about it being to loud in the morning as soon as you start your car up just shift it to D or R and it will be quiet down a little.
