What do you guys make of the longitudinal marks on the outside shoulder of this front RE71R tire? This is only on the right front, after a Sebring HPDE event.

Running -2.8 camber, 28psi cold, no more than 34psi hot. My guess, track temp was probably 120F (September at Sebring).

I do one lap warm up at beginning of every session? I'm thinking maybe not enough warm up?

What are your full alignment settings, including toe? And is that the inside or outside of the tire, and which side was that tire on?

See attached from last alignment. Car has been to 3 events since, so I am having alignment done again next week (and will increase front to -3.0).

This is the outside of the right front.

Alignment looks good to me. I haven't see this type of wear on my RE71Rs, so I suspect it is related to the unique concrete surface at Sebring. I'd try posting this on Chin's forums; they go to Sebring quite a bit, and someone may be able to confirm if this is related to the surface there.

Sebring is pretty bumpy, correct? Maybe in particular on the right side of the driving line? I got some gouging on my front tires from the high compression at the bottom of a hill at T7 at The Ridge Motorsports Park. Turns out it was the plastic tab that contains the screw that holds the bumper cover to the fender just inside the the fender lip at the panel line. There's extra plastic that can be ground down so it no longer sticks out in a point. Just a thought.

The longitudinal marks look like the tire rubbing on the fender or wheel liner.

Was not expecting rubbing to be the problem but I think you guys nailed it. Attached are pics of right vs left inner liners. Definitely some light rubbing on the right, and the fender retaining clip might have a sharp point as mentioned above. I'll have a better look with wheels off soon. Thanks!

If the tire is a 265/35, you will more than likely scape the body work under compression. My M2 has holes worn through in the areas you are showing. I would imagine that you can rub a 255/35 at Sebring as well.

I agree, looks like the tire is brushing the wheel liner parts. Probably happening when you hit curbing.
