Just wanted to mention that I've decided to no longer make these due to the increased costs, maintenance and overall time associated with the production and shipping of these. Thanks to all who have been a part of this over the years.

The added benefit of the DIY ones in this thread is that it provided more of a ram affect.
I run the speed engineering ones as preferred the bell mouth design. Not the cheapest but well made. https://www.speedengineering.de/en/p...e-for-bmw-m2c/ Regardless this thread was awesome as many came together to design a product and made it available to owners.

thanks - it was a fun project and I was able to connect and work with some super cool enthusiasts. I had collected a lot of data (never posted) about flows / velocities and impact on IAT etc...

Hi everybody - so is anyone printing these anymore or is this dead?
The recent link to the speedengineering version is also dead. Would love a set of these if they're available somehow! |

$350 is a little salty, eh? Sheesh. Thats before we have to ship it over the pond too.
I think I'm gonna get the BMW parts and/or beg the OP for the .stl files. Ha. |

I took my front bumper off to get re-painted/PPF'd, which is why I started inquiring about this.
In looking at the current OEM setup, I'm not quite sure I agree that the OEM setup is as awful as it's made out to be. Odd that BMW didnt give us the full kit of scoops like the M3 has, but I don't think the OEM setup is sucking completely hot air like some have said. The snorkels are like right under the headlights/behind the bumper.. it's not like they're next to the engine block. I bet they're getting "cold enough" air where they're at. I think the scoops or M3/4 pieces will be an improvement, but I dont think the stock setup is all *that* bad. Hell, I've purchased aftermarket CAI's that terminate below the headlights in a few other cars over the years that had "proven" gains so? I also track my M2C consistently in the NE where we'll see 90 degree days and recently tracked it in 20 degrees at VIR.. my laptimes are extremely consistent all day long regardless of temp, leading me to believe even on those hot days its not pulling timing or anything. My temps, even with a BM3 CS+ tune on it are rock solid according to the logs. |
