I'm looking forward to hearing these in real life. I keep hearing the view that some of these systems sound much better in person. My suspicion is that phone audio recordings are clipping higher decibel bursts.

I did have the AA Equal mid pipe with stock back box at the first for about 2 months but now I just install the M-Performance and the sound is super.

Shortly after I install valve controler will upload some video for you guys.
I'm very interested in hearing this setup and to know how well they fit together… was there a lot of cutting/finagling to get the MPE to mate up to the AA pipes?

I'm looking to do the same. I'm debating whether to go AA Equal length Mid pipe with either a Remus or AA rear. Would love to hear your car once you have it on!

I just got back from driving the pants off an M2 Competition at M Drivers School and I hate to say this but I think it sounded better than my CS!

I really need to upgrade the exhaust now!

The only upgrade I’m looking at is the AA Equal Length Resonated Centre Pipes combined with the M Performance Exhaust .

But the CS exhaust is way better then the C exhaust here in Australia .

Cheers

I think a large part of it is because the C gives instant gratification in ‘Sport’, but in the CS the secret is in ‘Sport Plus’ and a few revs. Once I figured that out I programmed M1 to Sport Plus / comfort/ comfort and just enjoy every drive, even to the shops.

Btw a bit OT, who else loves the very noticeable turbo whistle in sport plus??!!

Do you find Fran Drescher's voice sexy? I'm sure some people do. Sound is search a personal thing isn't it.

I have also noticed that! Why would that be more audible in sport+? I only hear it at part throttle and wonder if the software maintains faster turbo spool for quicker response?

My thoughts exactly. Deep sound, but very muted in the cabin. Pops and crackles are sometimes too much in the competition, but nothing at all??? Sound is way too subdued

It is the difference in the ASD coding(they have diff parameters in esys). If you turn them off in a m2c and m2cs they sound the same.

When you say "a few revs" are you revving it all the way out? I'm not noticing a ton of difference between sport and sport+ (in terms of aggressive exhaust note). I will say that the turbo whistle is very noticable and super cool!

I was meaning mid range… maybe it could just be the better engine/exhaust sound combo?

I’m surprised not really any of the voluminous reviews mention the turbo whistle and effectively a blow off valve too. Really 90’s

So I just got the aa valve rear installed with the aa midpipe. I'll try to get some clips done before long. Coming from the aa midpipe tied to the stock rear with valves open all the time, my initial impressions are that the aa system is definitely deeper in tone with less rasp than before. From a volume standpoint, the aa system is somewhat quieter overall than stock with valves open...probably not surprising to everyone. I do like the tone now and if it was my daily driver I would probably consider it a perfect volume. Since I don't daily drive, I do kinda miss the added volume a little from the midpipe and valves open...just a tradeoff I guess. With everything said, I think the look of the system is an added bonus

More impressions to come,
Rm

I can understand the issue with looks. The udder hanging low bothers me a lot. I'm trying to avoid spending the coin to replace the exhaust. I like that you went with the shiny tips. Can you tuck them up under the diffuser a little more. They stick out a little far for my taste, but it may be the camera angle. On the stock system I think the medial pipes protrude further than the lateral pipes. That might be what's throwing me off.

Ya there is plenty of adjustment out and in with the tips..they just slide along. We played with a few spots and ill go with where they are now, but easy to move.

Did you go resonated or non-resonated on your AA midpipe?

As I've owned these cars since 2018 the car looks really strange when the stock muffler is removed. It loses a lot of, erm, "masculinity"

Hi All,

I had mentioned earlier that I would provide an update once I had the new exhaust installed. Finally, I am getting around to it after several months. Some quick details:

Active Autowerke's Equal Length Mid Pipe - non resonated
Remus Race Exhaust (axel back)
Remus Race Carbon Fiber Tips

Overall: Exhaust is louder than stock, has some mild burbles, but not crazy with all kinds of pops and bangs. Could be a bit louder when valves close, but overall I would say it is good. Definitely happy to have the cows utter/diaper sag gone!

I'll keep words to a minimum here. I have and posted two links below to videos I've done on the install and drive bys. Enjoy!
