As you know, volume is directly related to velocity and velocity is what's important which is why the two smaller pipe design you're referring to works. That said, two smaller pipes with a combined volume larger than a single 3.5" will create more friction because of surface area. You'd be better off stepping to a smaller single pipe if you were really concerned with exhaust velocity at the rear of the exhaust, although I can see that hurting top end power eventually. We do have two bends at the rear, one with a tighter radius than the other as pictured below. At the rear of the system the exhaust is much cooler and therefore a bit slower as well, so we haven't noticed this being an issue at all. On a turbocharged engine, power is made at the turbo exit (downpipe) and beginning of the exhaust system when exhaust velocity is high.
Why didnt you guys go with HJS core for the DP? Just curious. I see you went with GESi (Global Emissions Systems Inc.)? Why them? Equivalent quality?

Apologies for reviving an old thread. Is the AA exhaust system for the N55 M2 still being produced?

I can't find it anywhere and don't see it on the AA website.

Call active directly. It's likely the F87C part with different attachments to the downpipe for the S55 vs the N55 and a different muffler. (if even)

I called - the exhaust is no longer in production, and the only option would be to buy the F87C exhaust and have it modified to fit the N55 downpipe.

Amuro…had my exhaust quote done today. We’re retaining the mperf exhaust..opening downpipe exit to 3.5, 3.5 midpipe and dual 3’s. Ties into mperf right before the muffler…

Think you could have it replicated for under 2k. Goes in the shop next wednesday…

yes..I’ll post pics of it next week too. The total quote was 2400 & that included opening up and fixing the baffles on the mperf muffler… one is loose and got a quote for around $500 to fix just that.

So im sure if you shop around; you can get the dp modded and bigger midpipe for under 2k

At the shop, one of the techs is a fabricator, he gave he his card...I might ask, but I don't I'm in such a bad mood because of this injector issue.
