It will probably have M2 Competition dash and iDrive. Main draw of the CS is driving thrills not luxury interior.

I would like to add a different viewpoint. Technology doesn't necessarily mean luxury. Technology is an enabler for great driving dynamics also. The speed of technology innovation has dramatically increased and I would definitely look for the latest tech when I buy a car.

I bought one of the first i8 and the tech plus features were improved from MY2014 to 2015. It wasn't pleasant for us early adopters and one of the reasons why I am much more hesitant throwing money at BMW as I did in the past.....still have 2 Ms as well and expect the CS to include everything possible, thrilled about MT CS....

Very much doubt the Android auto support. idrive6 doesn't, and pretty sure idrive7 has no support for android auto. BMW for some reason has chosen to totally disregard the 80+% worldwide market share that android has.

It sucks for us Android users but Alphabet company demands more data than MNFRs like BMW and Porsche are willing to give up.

Android auto tracks variables such as "vehicle speed, fluid temps, throttle pos, etc."

In a day and age where every company is mining for info for techs such as autopilot I can see why MNFRs are not willing to give up those types of data for free or even at a cost.

If we should blame anyone it's Google for this lack of feature in BMWs.

Agree 100%. Technology is not considered a luxury anymore, but instead should be a basic equipment.

Tesla did it right by allowing over the air upgrades constantly just like an iPhone upgrade. BMW is slowly starting to be more liberal with its upgrades for iDrive.

The holy grail for the future would be allowing the driver to the newest tech agnostic of model year.

Personally I can accept a Nav upgrade to my car from BMW. I would not be comfortable having OTA updates on the whole car. I own it, I would want first right of refusal as to what changes are made to my car.

Are you sure about this? I have an android auto deck (an aftermarket one) in my CR-V (which I installed myself) and it definitely has nothing that is inputting any car telemetry into it (other than the sensors in the phone it is paired with, perhaps).

Most aftermarket head units won't have access to ECU. Therefore the Android Auto will only send info what you have already set to share with Google from your phone.

It's like that infamous quote "who is the product here? I am ~ Android user". On a side note, I enable most of the features because it make it easier to run a business and organize my life.

BTW, Google did deny Porsche's claim and German companies are more concerned about privacy laws so there could be more to it.

In Brussels by mid September. But in a closed room (visited upon invitation only).

This.is.ridiculous.

This freakin' M2CS is an M2C with a tune - lighter weight because of strap pulls and no armrest - I know, a carbon fiber roof etc but seriously, wtf is with this car already.

An invitation to see this thing and btw -"In a closed room"?
That's actually funny.
Oh, they were serious - even more funny.

Invitations won't be necessary in about 6 months when they'll be collecting dust in a dealer's showroom because BMW is trying to whack the public again just like they did w/ the M4CS.

By invitation in a closed room huh? - give me a break with that would you please BMW.

Hopefully we get some leaked pricing, but will probably just be an opportunity to put down a deposit with right to refuse when pricing is released.

Someone just posted a video of a CS in camo on the street.

license plate 1203.

I didn't think there was anything new to see, but on review I noticed that the back window and quarter windows appear to be blacked out.

Edit: took another look and I can see through the tint in beginning of video. I think it's just the camera that made it look like windows were dark.
