Grippy McGripster

Had some fun on an early AM Canyon Run a few days ago. Roads were empty.

Can you say grip? These cars are amazing...

That is pretty good grip, but to be honest a lot of cars can do that and better these days. I’ve gotten 1.31g out of my ‘14 Mustang with semi slicks, and 1.12g on street tires.

Hmmm. I never said a lot of cars can't do better - and I'm fully aware. I hit 1.10g on the same road with street tires in my Camaro SS, the car I owned before the M2.

I was just excited that my second run out with the car, I was able to push so effortlessly to .92 and it was a great experience, but thanks for belittling it!

Sorry about that, was not my intention to detract from the achievement.

But now I'm confused. As you said it yourself, your previous much heavier American Muscle car outdid your M2 by .18g on the same road, so what is there to celebrate here in the first place?

Yeah - You're not sorry, you're not confused, and it's not an achievement or anything to celebrate. That wasn't the point. I'm just a guy, with a new-to-him M2 that wanted to share how amazing the car handles and make some friends who feel the same. Sorry it didn't impress you (not really, don't care).

Not wasting my time on this anymore, thanks for being a thread killer. Well done!

Feel free to reply (or not) and I'll delete the thread when you're done, because so am I. Adios.

Hey OP, congrats and welcome to the family. Don't sweat the negative nannies. Enjoy those canyon roads!

Good advice. With skin this thin, I'm not sure how one can survive the forums.

Cry about it. There's zero belittling, go do a damn track day canyon racer.
