I mean how long does it take for a "shipping vessel" to arrive at a "port"??? Seriously...

Hours will seem like days, days will seem like weeks...

According to the sticky post about tracking, it would take 15-22 days for east coast.

BMW Genius told me average time to get on a boat can be between, hold onto your hat, 2 and 5 wks! He said this can be the longest leg of the journey.

2 to 5 weeks!??!!! Death!

Do you think us Week 32 US bound M2 people could come up with a concerted effort to call the BMW “Geniuses” on a daily (if not hourly basis) as ask “has the shipping vessel arrived?” "How about now?" "Now?" Until it arrives… Would that help or do more harm than good?

I must believe that to an extent they try to fill the ship up with as many cars as possible (waiting for several weeks of cars to arrive at the port – probably our statuses would not change for this) and I would assume possibly even from other German car manufacturers. This would result in even more delay once the ship technically arrives…

I should be at 193 by tomorrow.

How do we figure out the ship (when it finally gets on one)? Is that something that Genius will be able to tell us? Will the East and West Coast deliveries be split?

Sorry for the questions. Even my CLS63 was purchased new off the lot. Never experienced this excruciatingly long wait.

Yes, 'Genius' should be able to tell you the name - see the 'sticky' tracking thread at the top:

"About 2 days after you are on a ship that has left port, BMW Genius can also provide the name of the ship and estimated date of arrival at your port of destination.

However, if your car ends up on a WW boat (Wallenius Wilhemlsen), your VIN will show up in their search page about 2 days after your car has left the dock. Simply go here and enter your VIN into the Cargo ID field. Remember if you end up on a ship that is NOT with WW, it won't ever show up on the WW tracking page."

I think I used the latter method last (first) time I ordered a bimmer.

I don't know anything for certain but based on schedules and the status of my car, I am taking an educated guess. That website will show accurate location of any ship. When you find out the name of the vessel your m2 is on then you can know when it arrives at port in the US

My status hasn't changed. Still waiting for a carrier pickup after dispatch.

I see some West Coast deliveries are waiting on a shipping vessel. Hope mine gets there soon.

I am not sure if the total time was only two days but it was two days from when I last checked and found out it was at the port. Could be that it was there for longer and I just didn't know. I have only called the genius twice since it went into production.

I will be calling them again this afternoon to see if they have the name of my ship yet. I have the ship tracker app on my iPad now so as you guys find out the names of your ships I can add them to my fleet and track them all together.

Carrier has picked up the car and it’s is on its way to the port. So should have no problem making the next West Coast bound ship.

Ok fellow week 32 brethren that are "awaiting for a shipping vessel" like myself - I've done some investigative work after reading the tracking sticky carefully (very good reading) and I think I have some GOOD NEWS!! Our ship (more thank likely) has arrived but has not yet set sail!

First picture shows a recent webcam view of the Bremerhaven port - the BMW "terminal" as described by the sticky. One can clearly make out a "Wallenius Wilhemsen" shipping vessel in the background - supposedly the shipping line that BMW largely uses. My guess is our cars are in the "holding area - or parking lot" circled in red. I see my car I see my car!!

Second picture shows a recent snapshot of the Bremerhaven Port "BMW terminal" which matches the webcam picture via http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/...53.575/zoom:15. Per this the "Wallenius Wilhemson" vessel name is "Hoegh Detroit" (circled in red) with the other ship being the "Seine Highway" (circled in blue). I can only assume some or all of us will get on the "Hoegh Detroit" but only time will tell.

My other guess is that over the next few day or days the number of cars in the lot will diminish as they are loaded into the ships...

May all my guesses be right!!!

I will add these to my fleet as potential week 32 ships. I am currently also following a ship called "Prestige Ace" that left port around two days ago with destination to the US.

The write up says your car will have left the port two days BEFORE you are ever notified that it was loaded on a ship. I suspect my car is on this ship and quite possibly with several of the other week 32 cars as well.

I did some digging around and found that the ship you have circled in red "Hoegh Detroit" is most likely not the correct ship. The shipping route scheduled for this ship takes it the wrong way to Hamburg.

The ship circled in blue "Seine Highway" is also a vehicle carrier but it does not have the forecasted route available yet. This ship looks smaller than the first ship.

There is also a third ship that you can see in your screen shot, a red Walleneus Wilhemson ship named "Tiger" this is a very good candidate as well, it does not have a forecasted route yet so we can't be sure but it is the same size as the other large vehicle carriers.

The fourth and smallest ship I see is the "Isar Highway" but this one is charted to go to Estonia, not the US.

So it looks like the best possibility based off the ships moored right now are either the "Tiger" or the "Seine Highway" with the "Prestige Ace" already on the way.
