The BMW M2 Competition Is a 2019 Automobile All-Star
Didn’t see this in the thread, very nice quotes form the testers! https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2...-stars-winner/ ‘Sometimes, you know a car is going to fare well at All-Stars just by watching our editors’ faces as they climb out of it. By midafternoon on day one at the track, as many of us got our first-ever taste of the new M2 Competition, the collective grin on Team Automobile’s mug stretched across the Antelope Valley from Willow Springs all the way to Palmdale. We still had days of driving to go, but already it was clear: BMW’s brilliant new M2 was a shoo-in.’ Last edited by natmad; 04-03-2019 at 05:44 AM.. Reason: Added article quote |

Motortrend has a new Head to Head video with the M2C and Alpine 110.
Even if I join the 14 day free trial, the trial doesn’t start until June 4. What the heck!? Anybody have a recap or link? Thanks |

It's an interesting review. I agree with most of it. He outlined many of the conclusions that had come to before my M2C purchase. The suspension review was a bit confusing. He seemed to be making a comparison to the normal 2 series and an OG M2 at the same time.

"It’s a car that’s hard to imagine tiring of, and that you suspect will continue to reveal layers of talent over the years.
Just like (whisper it) an E30 M3." https://classicandsportscar.com/feat...m2-competition |

"I must applaud BMW for (mostly) maintaining a rear-drive layout throughout its sedan lineup. That alone has converted enthusiasts looking for the traditional package for fun. And what fun! This BMW M2 Competition has seemingly been built strictly to induce smiles from the driver’s chair. Click the engine over to Sport Plus mode, and the exhaust baffles open to unleash pops and grumbles that delight the driver’s ear. I can’t help but think that the rear tires, at 265mm wide and mounted on 10-inch wide rims, could have been wider – but that would spare the driver from a bit of tail-wagging on corner exit."

Latest issue of Evo (UK) has supra vs M2c. A nice victory for the M2c : ) Some excerpts:
"M3s and M4s feel like big machines these days, but sitting behind the Comp's chunky wheel is like putting on a perfectly tailored suit. You're conscious the wheels are jutting out from each corner just a little further than on a regular 2-series, but the M2 still feels relatively narrow and no less wieldy than a hot hatchback..." "If you had to guess, you'd expect the M2 to be running the wider Michelins. The steering has more heft to it, and the grip the M2 extracts from the surface makes it feel like it's running Can-Am barrels. Understeer clearly wasn't in the Comp engineers' lexicon, and everything, from its responses to the way it deals with irregularities underfoot, is a notch tighter than the Supra. Where the Toyota sailed over cattle grids the M2 requires more circumspection, but the trade-off for a busier ride is more immediacy to its reactions, perfectly in tune with its more aggressive drivetrain...." "It's this, plus a confluence of other factors, which gives the M2 the clear edge in this company. The Supra – be in no doubt – is a very good sports car. It's capable, fast, wieldy, and looks the part. But it also fails to get under your skin. It does everything well, but nothing exceptionally, and while the money is about right for the performance and quality on offer, by comparison the M2 Competition is a conspicuous bargain at its sticker price." |

Technically a review, on instagram, but by former BMW-enthusiast and journalist Jason Cammisa

Interesting that Porsche refused to supply a base review car for the comparison.
Not a bad read. https://www.whichcar.com.au/reviews/...parison-review |

Italian drag race & dyno review with subtitles
That Merc gets off the line.
Found this one interesting as they dyno'd all the cars too. |

The new Merc 45's are interesting. I haven't heard that we are getting any of them but the CLA 45 in the US, and no "S" versions. I wonder if that will change.
