I have a build date of the 22nd week, i believe that is the first week of June. I assume I would get the car 6 weeks later (New Jersey).

Does anyone know when the 2017 model year begins for the M2?

Once you receive your production number, you can call up BMW and get your build week.

Silly question but what's the difference between MY2016 and MY2017?
My build week is 28 so week beginning 11th July, potentially the last week of MY2016.

That sounds like a MY17 date from what I have been reading.

You will be able to determine from your VIN. The 10th character is the model year. G is MY16, H is MY17, from what I read.

I am guessing this description matches your order. The H in position 10 in the VIN should indicate MY17, but we don't believe 2017 production has started yet and your build date was March 16th. This does not make sense, but what the dealer is saying and what the VIN indicates matches.

Which country are you purchasing your M2 from? I highly doubt it's a US car.

The car is European spec.
The dash is in kilometers... and I am taking delivery of my car on Wednesday!!!!

Congrats! Your published USA location threw me for a loop. FYI different countries also control the MY of a car, so it appears that for whatever reason your production date falls in Panama's MY2017. I believe Mexico does something similar as well.
