Finally drove the M2....yay

Well i finally got to drive the M2 today, unfortunately it was only a short trip as there was a queue of people waiting to take the car out after me.
I'm not going waffle on too much as i think pretty much everything has been covered in other people's reviews. All i can say is this car lives up to what everyone says.

There are only 2 things I'll comment on.

Most have been impressed with the stock exhaust but a few have said it is quieter than they thought it would be, imo it is perfect as it is, i can't see me changing it anytime soon, i had the BMW perf exhaust on my 135i and the M2 sounds even better, took the car up some city streets and the noise as it bounced off the buildings was awesome, i can only imagine it will sound better again in a 1000 or so kms. Also I drove an M4 a month or so back which was fitted with a perf exhaust, never in a million years does it sound better than the M2, M2 wins hands down imo.

Also just like to mention the colour, i had seen LBB previously indoors and thought it looked pretty good, outdoors in the sun it looked fantastic, my daughter was very impressed in how it changed shades of blue/teal as she walked around it, I'm very glad i stuck with the colour.

Now the wait, only about another 5 weeks to go.

Congrats on your M2! I agree that it looks and sounds beautiful even in stock form. However, I disagree on the exhaust comment. I heard both stock M2 and M4 with MPE in real life. Stock vs stock, M2 sounds a lot better I would say. However, M4 with MPE is clearly a lot louder than stock M2 exhaust. Are you sure the M4 you drove had MPE? Anyways, I think M2 is totally worth every single penny and I have no doubt that it will put a nice smile on your face every time you drive it.

On a road test a couple of days ago, and the exhaust note, burble, growl on decel, start up etc...very basey, it made me very impressed....i honestly believe the MPE is not needed - sounds amazing as is!

The M4 definitely had the PE. It may have been slightly louder than the M2 but certainly didn't sound better. imo.

Pop it in the cargo id field and if it has been loaded on the ship it should give you the vessel details. Let us know how you go.

Totally agree, it sounds awesome as is and perfectly loud enough! Then when you put it into Sport+ it goes insanely loud which I would expect the MPE to sound on its lowest setting. Huge growl, better burble and spits on the overrun. I don't see why you would want louder than that on a road car so I will never consider changing it.

That's great you've got it so much earlier, mine was originally June.

Approx 12 days from when the ship docks they estimate.

I've sent you a fb friend request.

M2 sounds great, better than F80 M3 or M4. Really great tone and volume! Maybe BMW will pay attention to that now?
