Any 6MT owners tried this new shifter bushing setup?

Apparently just released - curious about trying it https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...ifter-bushing/

What would this affect? I don't really have any slop on my car (yet - since it's new). I always through the notchiness was due the gear-box itself, could a bushing upgrade improve that?

Noting that it's sold on lack of slop rather than smoother shifting - probably not. But, someone will doubtless be along shortly to extol its virtues for doing exactly that.

Installed a similar product from Turner on my E30 M3. The stock mount will hold up for many years, all it does is isolate and locate the end shifter support. When installed I don't think you will notice any difference. Not knocking TMS, Will is a standup guy, but replacing this part may only be needed if your shifter is totally in need of a rebuild. Just my 2 centavos.

I wouldn't buy anything from Turner these days. ECS Tuning bought them a while ago, and are in the process of slowly converting them to shit (just like everything that ECS touches in the past 3-5 years or so).

^^^ seriously, check out the Facebook group "Why I hate ECS Tuning".

A former Turner employee (fairly high up) posted his story about how much ECS gutted Turner after they bought it out. I know that once upon a time Turner was highly respected in the BMW world.

Just want people to be aware that most of what they once were does not exist anymore.

Installed. Definitely made a difference in shifting. Crisper engagement and noticeably smaller "slop" in action. I have a UUC EVO 3 short shifter and it makes it even better. Well worth the $80 investment for me.

Maybe 20 min. Removing the heat shield takes the most time. Exhaust blocks access a little.

Thank you for the kind review sir. I guess, I should bite the bullet together with the UUC EVO shifter I have been eyeing for three months.

It makes a big difference in shift travel and engagement

BTW, lightyears better than the Rogue. I tried it and it wasn't that much different than stock.

Can you expand on the differences? I'm looking at a short shift kit as well.

Do you mean Rogue still had plenty of travel? If we were to say stock had 100% travel and UUC has 25% travel (or whatever % is correct), where would rogue lie on that scale?

Or did you mean the feel (effort/notchiness)?

Back on topic: could you tell us the size of the Torx bolt head on the bracket?
I'll need to buy a Torx socket (set?) for the job.

Has anyone tried swapping out the front shifter carrier bushing?
PowerFlex sells one. Seems like it would make more of a difference than the rear bushing.

OK, but be warned: I had the PowerFlex polyurethane front carrier bushings installed, and the NVH skyrocketed. Sure, the shift action is crisper and there's no more rubberiness. But I can hear massive gear whine and driveline lash that were inaudible before. So I'm going to have the stock bushings put back in. It's my DD, not a track-only weapon.

I also had the Turner rear shifter carrier bushing installed (linked to by the OP), and I think I'll leave it in place. Apparently there's little or no NVH increase.

Here are some links:

https://powerflexusa.com/bmwshifterc...hingsoval.aspx

https://www.bavauto.com/bmw-transmis...ring-pff5-4631

Anyone: please let me know if the Turner part also creates extra noise.
If so, I'll ask my local independent shop to replace it with the stock bushing tomorrow.
