M2C Daily Vessel Tracking - FAUST

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey guys,

A few years ago when tracking my M3, those of us with nothing better to do came together and created a thread that tracked the vessels crossing the Atlantic. I decided why not do it again, and try to help the guys who may be on the same ship as me.

I purchased a 14 day Satellite tracking plan on Fleetmon for my carrier, the Faust. Unfortunately this is the only ship that will have live updates, but if there are other ships you would like to see added to the map, reply below and I will include them. Just know that those will have shore-based position updates and the ship will go dark once it gets far enough into the Atlantic. I will be updating this thread with new positions once a day for the next few weeks!

Thanks for doing this! Stopped watching Faust once it departed South Hampton and entered the open Atlantic...looks like it’s almost halfway to Baltimore!

Wish I were getting an east coast delivery...Faust won’t hit California until 9/7...and then I’ve got another 2 weeks after that....sigh.

Me too...I wish I could tell them to take the car out at Baltimore and I'll fly over to go get it! Haha

You guys are funny, tracking the vessel that carries your car. So you actually have your sales rep call and find out what ship the car is on? Can't imagine doing that myself.

You can also use marinetraffic.com

Waiting 2-3 months to take delivery is enough to drive a person to craziness! But it is a fun way to pass the time...this is my third "tracking adventure" and it never gets old.

On a more practical level, for us northerners the delivery date is a significant concern as winter approaches. I took delivery of my 1M coupe in mid-december in the middle of snow storm...thankfully was prepared for the worst and got her home safely. I'm hoping not to repeat that hair raising experience again!

They shouldn't allow this. It's a form of self abuse.

Weirdly enough, mine has apparently just left Brazos, which appears to be in Texas. Bloody thing is getting a world tour!

Making good progress! Sounds like it might make Baltimore a bit early on 8/23? WW website says it's scheduled for 8/24. Then headed to the canal...

Imagine you should be taking delivery around 9/10-9/12? Jealous! Planning on taking delivery myself around 10/1.

Ironically I will be in SoCal when they off load the cars at Port Hueneme on 9/7...wish I could just pick it up at VPC!

That would be awesome! I am waiting to see if there is a port hold for any recall issues...sounds like a few cars have required an airbag retrofit. Hopefully smooth sailing thru VPC!

Was planning on talking with my SA when Faust arrives in Port Hueneme. From experience of other forum members sounds like the SA gets notified (or can submit a query) if there a port hold placed on the vehicle.

I sent my SA an email as soon as the Thalatta was in port. He was able to confirm that the car was already assigned to a truck pretty quickly. I was quite worried about this airbag issue that some folk are getting hit with.

Good to know...thank you! Great that you avoided this air bag issue...hopefully affecting only very few unfortunate souls.
