Maybe if they had warmed up the M2's tyres a bit and then ran it a second time from a dig it might've had an opportunity.

Bloody ice cold gives the AWD mad advantage. Go figure.

Man that 5 cylinder turbo sounds good.

Better looking for the M2. The gap is not so big (rolling start) regarding the additional power of the RS3..

Fair race, no doubt the AWD Audi with more power had this..

They should re-run these after the M2 gets the TT S55 motor with some 666M 20 inch*10.0 rear wheels and 405hp. That should level the playing field a bit..

Color me biased but, looking at the two cars side-by-side, the M2 means business whereas the RS3 resembles a typical small family sedan that blends in with the pack. It's one thing to be sleeper. It's quite another to be boring and bland.

In an ideal scneario, I would own both these cars, M2 for track / summer daily and RS3 for everything else - winter, family hauling, long trips, etc.
