You are welcome!

And I can tell you right now, videos never truly capture the sound completely.

Not having tips choices wasn't an issue to me since I really just wanted them black, either glossy or flat and wasn't interested in a carbon finish. Being that said I was happy with what they rolled out with. The size on them also make them look good. Fitment was perfect, no hassle install.

Once you install this, let me know your feels, I am pretty sure you will be just like me!

Ugh i know, that sound is PERFECT but i really like the look of brushed silver tips on my black car. Also concerned with how far the tips stick out. In my opinion they don't come out far enough. I hate that there is no room for adjustment or color choice. I might just suck it up and do it anyway, that sound is very intoxicating and the price point seems fair. I'll have to sleep on it but i'm sure i'll be crossing over in the near future. Worse case scenario i guess i'd just resell it if i didn't love it. Ugh, decisions decisions...

Fly down to FL for some Vacation and swing by to see and hear it!

Probably once you go with this setup you will forget about how it looks based on the sound

Love it all, sound and looks. Car gets lots of thumbs up followed by a comment about the sound.

Indeed, now I just need to figure if I will pair with an Intake (been considering the DINAN). Next mod for sure is the FMIC and finally the tune.

It depends on where you live and how the test is conducted. If they use an ODB scanner tool to read the ECU/DME then the car will pass (because no CEL).

If you live somewhere that uses a sniffer tail pipe test then it may or may not pass. I have no idea what the increase in CO2 emissions would be from this mod nor would I know what the legal amount of CO2 emissions are where you live. It probably varies state to state, country to country.

Also if you live in California it's illegal to modify your cats at all so if they physically look at them and determine they're aftermarket you could potentially fail.

I live in NJ where they use the ODB scan every 2 years (but only after the car is 5 years old) so it should pass emissions just fine once it's due for it's first test in 2022.

Are you tuned?

If so then that doesn't surprise me that you failed. Raising boost puts added heat and pressure on the cat and it will wear it out much faster. The tune could have hidden the CEL since most of them have that feature built in, and then you went and got tested thinking you weren't throwing codes when you were.

If you're stock like I am you shouldn't have any issues passing emissions in NJ. Next time do yourself a favor and scan the car for any fault codes before you go get it inspected. Also keep in mind you don't have to get inspected at the DMV. I've gone to emissions certified Indy shops before and slipped someone a $20 if you catch my drift.

Q: When can an AMCC be legally installed?

A: A new AMCC may be installed when the vehicle is beyond its warranty period and a legitimate need for replacement has been established and documented. Most vehicles in New York State are covered under the federal emissions warranty of 8 years or 80,000 miles. A legitimate need for replacement may be established through an annual vehicle inspection performed by a licensed inspection/maintenance (I/M) technician. Non-I/M program related reasons for replacement may include damage resulting from vehicle accidents, cracked or melted substrate, exhaust leaks, or converter malfunctions. Non-I/M program related AMCC replacements must still be established and documented by the installer.

Q: Can a missing catalytic converter on a vehicle still under the warranty period be replaced with an AMCC?

A: No. An OEM catalytic converter must be installed because the vehicle is still under the emissions warranty. AMCC may only be installed on vehicles beyond the warranty period

Not really important what the technical legalities are if their testing method is just an OBDII scan. If there is no 02 sensor fault code the car will pass. It won't be legal, but it will pass and they won't be the wiser. Hell, I've passed emissions with straight pipes before. JB4 + DP fix wires. Obviously that wouldn't work if your state does a visual inspection or a sniffer test.

I agree ,because it does not always get enforced at least from what I have seen. I only posted it based on your prior post about it being illegal. It s NOT illegal to replace the cat if the car has over 80,000 miles and is defective in some way,CA and N.Y. Those are the two important keys as to when and why which are married so to speak. Again CA/NY.
I am pointing out that the info in your post is not completely false and not completely true.

It is always good to post what the technical legalities are in this situation to avoid confusing folks especially since you addressed it. Not bashing you so please do not take offense ,not my intention.
So now folks can have some ,should I say accurate knowledge concerning this issue and what they do is up to them. I am sure some would find it important.

Fabspeed sport cat does NOT throw a CEL, tuned or stock.

In NJ on all OBD2 cars, at the NJ MVC inspection station, they look to see if you have a cat (which they can't tell on the M2, and they check the car's computer for stored codes and readiness. Assuming that these conditions are met, you will pass inspection.

I passed with my OBD1, 500whp 95 M3, turbo car that had a vibrant cat. If that passed, your M2 should. And being that it's not up for inspection for 5 years after purchase, I don't even understand why I just had to explain all of this.

Don't have the link but there was a member who said he got a CEL after tuning his car. I'm assuming that's not the norm but it's obviously possible.

Phil from Fabspeed here. I believe that particular customer had done multiple different upgrades to the vehicle at the same time if we are talking about the same owner. We worked through it with them and the CEL did not stick arond.

Flashed back to stock.

Drove 200 miles.

Didn't pass with a 200 cell cat.

Fabspeed may pass I dont know but just sharing my $.02.

I had to put the stock cat back on then clearly it was fine....

So you don't even have a fabspeed cat? Then I'm not sure why you decided to throw your hat into the ring and not even mention the brand you were using since you're commenting in a fabspeed specific thread.

And yes fabspeed will pass and they're guaranteed not to throw codes or lights. That's where your extra money is going and it's well worth it IMO.
