I actually found a shop in Ottawa that will do it for $5,300 plus tax (written quote). They have done a ton of XPEL installations.

By the way, my previous quote was 7,000 plus tax or $7,910 total, here in Ontario

For everyone thinking about doing it, it pays to shop around if you can.

It pays to shop around but also its very important that you find a guy that you trust and has a lot of good reputation points. You want a guy who is as anal as you.

With these wrap jobs has anybody found reason to fear the installers breaking tabs/pins when removing/reinstalling the badges, grills, lights, etc.?

It'd be annoying to have any loose exterior parts after a wrap job because of broken tabs or torn sticky foam not being replaced properly.

Yeah, the choice for me was simple since XPEL has a local shop here in Austin. They also deal with 7 figure cars so I knew they were more than capable. What was really great is that they treated me like my car was 7 figures. I would be very leery of someone offering a similar service for half the price. It's a ton of work to do it right. You definitely get what you pay for.

They had the car for two full weeks. When I get to my hotel tonight I'll throw a pic up.
Ok, so maybe it wasn't that night... lol

Nope. For all I know they replace them with new ones. I debadged before I had mine done though, so I can't really say. The only badge they had to deal with on mine was the trunk Subaru badge and it was just as solid as when I dropped it off. I'd have XPEL do another car in a heartbeat. If they're not close enough to get to, I'd only use an Xpel trained installer. I've been ecstatic with the local installer David recommended.

I couldn't agree more $6500 is on the cheap.

confusion Thanks for sharing this! I've been looking into having my LBB wrapped when I get it but was really hesitant/scared as the M2 will be my first BMW and my first car (that I own). It's scheduled for production in September so I assume it'll be ready by October! I can't wait.

I assume you went to XPEL Austin?

Yep. Ask for Lindsey. They were great to work with and I would definitely do business with XPEL again.

It's possible this would be a third as TheNeonTiger said he was planning on doing it, too.

At least my license plate will remain unique. :P

I'll be at the dealer next Tues getting my 1200 mile service if you wanna stop by to check out my car.

Dealer also currently has an AW DCT M2 which they are letting people test drive for a few weeks before they sell it to someone crazy who wants to buy a 2000 mile abused new car. They might as well go buy a car from Enterprise lol

Yes, it's wrapped. It's impossible to photograph well but you can get a sense for the job by looking at the pics in http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...&postcount=139.

I need to update the OP to show those as many people likely never saw them.
