Henry was too polite

Give it to the guys at MotorTrend to give more "oomph" regarding the differences between these two cars.

Considering the rs3 is only DCT I don't consider it competition. I do however wish that BMW had more tech like the rs3

RS3 is Automatic and AWD, you CANNOT consider these two cars competitors!!!!!
They just happen to be similarly sized and priced...
I wanted to love the RS3... I did until I drove one
I am an Audi FANBOI and I don't care for the RS3. They say it has "rear wheel drive feel/tendencies".... not so much

Better tech in the RS3, and in person, the 5 cylinder does sound fantastic, but I'd take the M2 any day. It's got the looks, and you can get it with a stick. Easy choice imho.

I'd take the M2 any day too. Apart from the sound, performance, handling and the M heritage, there's the looks, where it beats the plain RS3 hands down.
Love Henry Catchpole's reviews - understated but enthused, a breath of fresh air

Remember when all we had were magazine reviews? And we had to hope that the car we were interest in was featured in an upcoming issue soon, and against the cars that we wanted to see compared? Now there are so many great YouTube videos, many with fantastic production quality. It's a really cool thing.

Same here, got it for last weekend and after two days I didn't want to buy it anymore.
You can slide it around, I did it on wet roundabouts with esp off. The problem is you get understeer and snap oversteer so it's easy to crash and there is no rear diff like in M2 that makes it much more fun.
Yes the sound is good.
Yes you can feel the acceleration moving your insides.
Thing he says about the interior is spot on - had the same experience moving from M2 to RS3 day after day. M2 is much better built.
In RS3 with pano roof I was scraping it with my hair (I'm 6'2), RS seats are very high. M2 mich better in this regard.

"The Audi doesn't like to be pushed at its limit."....and this is on a public road. I can't imagine how uninspiring it would be at the track.

I haven’t watched the video yet but I’m assuming the M2 won since it’s posted here.

Interesting, as I was playing with the idea to buy an RS3.
I am looking for an AWD sports car and since the M3 and M2 are not I was looking at the RS3.
I don't like their air vents, yet I can learn to live with that if the car is worth the money.
I was considering the M2 but it will be a waste to keep it in the garage since I have at least 6 months of winter in here...

A true M.

Simple, direct, honest and pure. It may not have had all the goodies we consider essential to M, but I consider it the best one I have owned. Every drive is smile waiting to be unlocked.

I hope BMW keeps the purity of this car when it plans a successor for it and its bigger M3/M4 stablemates.

Can’t wait to drive the upgraded version. Whatever they will name it.

How can they say that...this car had reverse staggered setup. Front 255 and rear 235. It looked odd right there, I test drove one.

I know right?! that's what the YouTube reviewers are saying. my audi sales rep let me go mildly wild on our test drive(friend of mine). it was quite difficult to get ANY fun out of the rear end...Gigity

When comparing the nutritional value for school children, you will find that you can in fact, compare apples to oranges...
