I think BMW failed with this car. It is focused exactly for enthusiasts who are the makeup of this forum. And yet most all of us are scratching our head asking how this is any more special than a regular white M2 with some performance parts. Yes, there are some interior mods, but they aren't extreme enough for those that want to track their M2 extensively. I suspect most of those enthusiasts are holding out for the M2 CS anyway. This seems like a car that missed it's target audience.

There is no doubt a couple of years from now the 150 limited edition will be worth the 8k more on resale... we are not taking about a 20k preimum plus for this edition, Msrp is 61k... its steal for a
M collectors edition. |

I can't speak for others, but I turned it down because I am at the top of the list for the CS. Which based on the info we've been given, will be a significant improvement from the base M2. I am still hoping the price comes in <$70K and if it is say $68-70K then I would feel quite foolish spending $62K for the "performance edition".
