FWIW, I have a DCT now and will have an "archaic" clutch pedal in my next car.

It's all good, I've tried 'em all and find things I really like with each tranny. The only BMW tranny that gave me the heebeegeebee's was my old SMG. I'm impressed with the newer transmissions, even the MT is getting better.

You mean that little lift off oversteer with dirt on the tires?
Haha We better get used to understeer because the next 1 or 2 series gets fwd also and maybe a understeery 4wd haldex system also. Enjoy the M2 It will be one of the last small rwd fun cars from Bmw. The first option Will be the m3/m4 thats far from small and agile. |

Now between an entry M, RS and AMG, the choice is easy. BMW because RWD. But the next generation? They'll be all the same FWD based AWD. BMW will have no advantage.

I could have lived with the LOOKS of the previous generations of Audi S4, Lexus IS 300, or Ford focus RS 500. The current models are so ugly(especially the front grills) it doesn't matter what they do on the road/track. They evoke a feeling of large mouth bass or catfish to me. Even if my car were broken down on the side of the road it would still look good not moving!

Maybe the new RS will have a manual after-all considering the S3 might be getting one:
