I had my M2 on "winter rest" since december up until last weekend.
I couldn't get my android phone to make the spotify connection so I removed my phone from my iDrive settings to re-add it.

However, when re-adding my phone I could not, and can not, get back the checkbox in my iDrive to also connect "Apps" in addtion to "Contacts" and whatever more options there were..

So, what has happened? I know the android/spotify connection is sketchy but has the option been removed during the last 3 months?

Try resetting your iDrive mate, and let me know hows it going

I've had the same problem that started a few weeks ago. Sorry to ask but how do I reset iDrive?

I use an older version of Spotify. For me the last 6 versions have not worked....The rest of the problems seem like your phone. I doubt your IDrive has changed but your phone likely has.

Press and hold the volume button for like 30ish seconds, and you're good to go mate.

@gregoryK hmm it does makes sense, however a lot of my friends using the latest update of iOS and Android but doesnt get any trouble with the iDrive connection though

Just an update on this. I had thew car in for oil/filter change as per the free interval service.
When getting into the car the first time after service then spotify activated itself again.
So I checked the version and it seems they updated it to a newer version which probably corrected the problem.

The old version was: 101181.3.212
The new version is : 101182.3.211

So....newer version of iDrive (!?) helped the problem..
Just one hickup, it doesn't seem to be able to "load" the songs to the "quick menu" on the dashboard to switch songs with the "thumb switch" on the steering wheel..
But hey, I've only tried once, maybe it will succeed tomorrow..
