center console sliding

Hey guys just a random question, I noticed in the BMW video the centre console has a cover over the cupholders. Does yours have this sliding cover?

About 26-27 seconds in to the video.

The car is too far away ATM so I can't go look, but I swear I've never seen it on mine. I probably haven't noticed it.

Yes it has the sliding cover.

Yup. And it's annoying.

EDIT: I just now (days later) realized you were talking about the cup holder cover and not the sliding arm rest. My 2018 has both, but the annoying comment was referring to the sliding arm rest.

Isn't that something they added to the lci+ versions? The OG's didn't come with it, correct?

I believe it was added with LCI for MY2018. The 16s and 17s have no cupholder cover and the little tray in front of the cup holder actually opens and there's a tiny storage bin underneath

My 17 has a sliding arm rest.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else's center console creak like crazy. Mine feels incredibly cheap and makes creaking sounds even on the lightest touch.

I found the sliding armrest annoying and too high for the manual shifting, my fix https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=31
