Thanks to all who reached out with suggested dealer contacts. In the end I got hooked up with a dealer relatively close to home with an allocation.

Grats! I got my order number today from my dealership, once my late July is confirmed I'll see who else is going out there for meeting up.

I'm looking for a dealership as well.

So far I've put down a deposit with a dealership in CT and I live in CA, but I still went ahead with it since he said he can do ED at MSRP. But I wanted to do the delivery in the summer and he said those dates were not available and it will be next month sometime. So I passed on that since I can't go next month. Reading through the posts here, I think I might have better luck with a different dealership.

Being in CA, I've got to think there's a dealership somewhere in the state that will be able to help you. I'd recommend Jimmy Bach at Steve Thomas BMW, but one of the other guys on this thread had no luck with them. They were the only ones who offered to help me, but that was last summer and the M2 LCI.

I've heard people have good luck with Crevier. They didn't have any spots available when I was looking though. I also had positive contact with a guy named Henson Santiago at Pacific BMW, but I think they wanted a $1k "ED surcharge" or something.

I've spoken to Jimmy and currently he is not able to do ED at MSRP, they want to charge US MSRP (so no ED discount of 5%). He's a great guy though.

I'll try my luck with Crevier and Pacific BMW.

Bummer. Guess I just got lucky with them. Yeah, Jimmy is awesome. He's a huge Bimmer guy and has a pretty sweet E46 M3.

Just keep trying and you'll find something. I think I talked to about 40 dealerships from Seattle to San Diego over a few weeks before it worked out. Good luck!

bmw of ridgefield CT? what dates did u give for ED in summer. i think they cannot schedule ED ahead of few months. you could ask whats the farthest date possible. then you could call BMW ED specialist directly and reschedule.

New Country BMW in Hartford, CT actually. Who/ how do I later get in touch with the BMW ED specialist? Is that someone in the same dealership?

I think he meant a specialist at BMW in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Have a read through recent threads for a name. I just saw it yesterday.
