Curious if this will increase the odds of a CEL

I always recommend a JB4 with open intakes so you do not have to worry about the CEL

code clearing is no longer available in the USA for CARB certification. The only way to really get rid of the CEL is to get a flash tune for speed density tuning.

Fuelling trims and ignition tables can adjust over time as they're designed to adapt and learn, I don't believe the MAF tables will do the same to such an extent as it is used sheerly for idle and likely emissions. Because as soon as you're on load the car switches to speed density.

This pretty much eliminated the use of the maf at idle conditions solving the rough idle and cold start rev hunting a cold air intake causes. It was a pretty smart and simple solution that doesn't require a flash and uses the ecus own back up system for the maf. But now that code clearing is gone it will be a bit annoying to use. But I heard you can sign a wavier to acknowledge carb certification will be void in order to get those race track features (code clearing) back. Also code clearing for the downpipe or the maf is the auto code clearing feature on the jb4, that was removed for carb certification.

And passive delete is disabled in order to get carb certification, there was a whole thread about this on the other forum. In order to get passive code delete back you must be outside of the USA, or sign the wavier acknowledging the jb4 is for off road usage and with that new firmware it is not carb certified.

I spoke to BMS. They mentioned that the aluminum version is not meant for the M2.
Only the standard CAI will fit. However, looking at the pics of that one I don't see any advantage over the OEM. Sending this one back EPH for a refund. |

The benefit is that the piping diameter is larger than stock with no bottle necks which the stock one does have right in the middle where it tapers down quite a bit. The only con is I've heard the plastic bms one warps if you tighten the clamp for the filter too much.
