My last DCT (M6) showed current gear already in manual and auto modes.

Does M2 DCT not do that?

But SPA_IST_GANG_ENABLE is for enabling the display of current gear not the shift indicator??

Thanks to ///M Houbie and OKCZ
I've set SPA_IST_GANG_ENABLE to aktiv and no more shift gear indicator only current gear (DCT gearbox).
SPA_CHECKBOX doesn't work (no check box in iDrive display), it seeems to be quite logical for DCT.
Thanks again, I can now drive without this virtual ecologist non-stop saying to upshift to save the earth !

Try it this way:

Set SPA_IST_GANG_ENABLE back to "nicht aktiv" (this is important). Set SPA_CHECKBOX to "aktiv" in Headunit and
SPA_KOMBISELECT_DISABLE to "nicht aktiv" in Kombi.

Then you should be able to control it via iDrive. At least it works this way in my car (6MT).

It's much cleaner and less distracting without that useless thing!

For those facing a similar issue, 3003_0_0_32 is SPA_KOMBISELECT_DISABLE which must be set to "nicht_aktiv" in addition to SPA_CHECKBOX which has to be "aktiv". SPA_IST_GANG_ENABLE (show current gear) does not work.
Trying in Bimmercode. Is this the process for DCT m2c as well as manual? Thank you

If it's DTC there is no shift indicator? Or does one appear if you select manual mode?

I think you can only do this in Esys? Correct me if I'm wrong?

M Houbi and I used Esys...

Edit: just checked and bimmercode has now unscrambled the Kombi ECU so you can do this mod with bimmercode!

Meanwhile the M2C's kombi ecu is possible to code with Bimmercode.

But with DCT i don't think you can disable it, there is no shift point indicator as doughboy stated.

Beat me to it! I haven't used BC for a while.

Glad to see we can code M2C Kombi with it now

I had shift point indicator as standard delivery parameters (DCT gearbox) .
No way to disable.with iDrive.
Had to disable it with ESys. See my post above.

Yep, but now you can do it with bimmercode as they've unscrambled the Kombi ECU settings now.

Just picked up a 2019 M2 Competition 11/28 build date. Already had the M menu in the iDrive. I am a 6MT however.. Really wish there was a current gear indicator for 6MT guys though

I think US cars have the shift indicator disable check box available. Just EU cars don't.

All manual cars have a current gear indicator - the gearstick!

Don't even need to take eyes of the road. Put your hand on the shifter and you know exactly what gear you're in...

Thanks! Finally got around to doing it.

Spa_ist_gang_enable was already not active and gear indicator was still showing. Tried this and it worked but no idrive toggle showed up.

Thanks all!

US cars should already have the disable option available from the factory as far as I know?

Have you checked these in HU and Kombi?

How did you get it to say M2 in the tach instead of M? And what are the "sport plus" and "comfort" indications for, where the effecient dynamics gauge used to be?

M2/// is printed on the tacho fascia it's not a display. I though they all had that? (M2c)

Sport plus and comfort are engine mode and steering setting. They are shown here when you turn off the pointless / stupid efficiency gauge in I drive settings.

Ahh, the dash was updated for the M2C then.

And I didn't know that about the other thing. I thought it was blank if you turned off efficient dynamics. I kept mine on because I liked the colors. Unless what's in his picture is another thing specific to M2C. I'll have to try disabling it tomorrow.
