Ok, the dealership just came back to me with the following:

Quote:
I heard about this today, my business manager is having a look and seeing if there are any build slots we can bring it forward to, but other than that I don’t have any more information.
It's quite interesting though that we got to this situation considering the amount of people who are moaning that the old M2 is better :-)

I think your dealer is a bit poor. He just needs to read the notices sent to them by BMW...

Most of the dealers quoting me didn't know about it and were happy to take my deposit, when I went back to them to check this issue they went away then came back "err yes sorry sir, you can't order that".

The bulletin has been out since early August. As soon as I tried to order in early September I was told about the stop and that no orders could be taken with 2NH option.

Interesting... what do you suggest at this point? To be fair I'm not in such rush, I'm happy to wait a bit longer, that will also give me a 2019 plate which is not bad somehow and possibly give time to BMW to recall any found issue.

Fair enough if you're not in a hurry.

It would be nice if your dealer knew what they were doing and kept you properly informed though.

You might be able to get a better deal in the meantime elsewhere.

Genuine question, how does one go about it? I mean can I cancel my current purchase and go elsewhere?

Sure you can cancel,

Check the terms on the order paperwork you should have signed.

Also Peter Vardy seems to be the only one still on a 2.9% for the M2C... the other one I checked are on 4.9% already too

I would avoid if at all possible, I have my order through Peter Vardy just now and I’m quite happy to name and shame.

The customer service so far has left a lot to be desired, salesman won’t return any emails or calls, I’m actually getting a complex as I feel like some kind of stalker trying to get simple questions answered.

All this considering there proclamation of being one of the top 3 BMW dealership for customer service in the world

Oh! Good to know, I'll drop my consideration for them then.
If anything I pointed out to my current dealership that they are still doing the 2.9% till March and questioning why I wasn't given the option. When I went to enquire I was shown the 2.9% and magically when I placed the deposit it sky rocketed to 4.9%. Mine, Stephen James, so far has been quite good and prompt with their customer service and replies, slow at times due the closing of the quarter but quite on top of things when needed. I can't shame them for sure so far.

Honestly I really don’t like being a keyboard warrior but Peter Vardy are bunch of theiving fu**s and liars!

Was told today I’m not getting my £1000 back as it’s non refundable. I should have read the T&Cs on the sales doc, not relied on the salesman not telling me.

This is despite me cancelling my order as they are completely inept, and have ordered a car that is not what I spec’d. They have removed 2NH to process my order allowing Dec instead of April/May and requested orange instead of blue seats

I have been told the dealer principle will contact me tomorrow, but will basically give me the same answer I received from the sales manager.

Raging doesn’t even cut it

What the heck? Are they even legally allowed to do so? I mean you ordered a product and the are going to delivery something that is not as advertised and not conform to spec. I'm not a lawyer but surely the is a clause there that should nullify the agreement.

Anyone have any experience with the section 75 claim from your credit card company? Thinking this must fall into that!

Gents. I would recommend calling Tom Hinchliffe at Cooper BMW York.

By far the best BM place I've dealt with. Can't fault them so far.and they beat Vardys on price even before customer service came into it.

I'll try to drop him an email and see what price he can make. Interest wise they are on 4.9% too so no benefit there. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not fully sure of that... I have few reserves but I don't think they are appropriate to disclose publicly

No not to tell on here, what I mean is the APR and discount is not fixed, it's up to you to negotiate with the salesman.

They always have room to manoeuvre if you try hard enough.

That link you’ve sent was really helpful mate, my card provider have Suspended the transaction and are investigating! So hopefully a bit of common sense will prevail after all.

I’ve managed to get another order placed through one of V4B lease deals, I know leasing is not for everyone but the deal suits me.
