professional ceramic coating costs
Hello, as the title states, I am looking to get a guesstimate on what I would pay to get my car professionally ceramic coated. It is a 2018 woth 900 so paint is still pretty much new. Thanks!

Coating Cost
Quote:
This would depend on many factors. 1. Which coating? Consumer version or professional version and which brand. 2. What the prep work will be prior to the application of the coating. For some entry level coatings, you could be in the realm of $850-$1250 with minimal prep (polishing) and then with some professional, you could be in the $1250-$2500+ depending on which one you choose. I hope this helps. Bruce |

Ceramic coating cost will depend on # of layers applied to the vehicle also depend on what kind of coating solution will be used.
more layers and more areas covered by coating will of course be more expensive. Coating usually consist of 1 layer of nano polish, 1-10 layers paint protection coating, 1-3 layers of top UV protection coating, 1 layer of exterior plastic coating, 1-3 layers of windows and windshield coating, 1-3 layers of rim face coating. It could be extended to interior as well. Coast will vary from $500 to $3000+ |

I paid around $1500-2000 for full prep (although it was brand new at the time and only had very minor imperfections) and OptiCoat Pro Plus with 7 year warranty. When I was getting quotes, there was a pretty wide range, from $800 to $5k+. For me, and I suspect this is likely the most important thing, it came down to finding a good detailer rather than choosing the coating I wanted. I interviewed several shops before I decided and it turned out fantastic. Would recommend asking around in your area to see where other high end cars get done and find enthusiasts who have been happy with the long term results. There were also a lot of optional add-ons like window treatment, wheels/calipers, etc. I regret not having them do the wheels for an additional $100. Good luck.

CeramicPro Gold
It cost me around $2K for CeramicPro Gold (nine coats) which has a lifetime warranty. I did the gold because it is transferrable to a new owner. The drawback is that yearly touchups are required which could cost a few hundred to repair the coating. The car looks great and stays clean longer. I air dry after each wash and the water just rolls off. I will write up a detailed report in October after I've had it a year.

I am a strong believer in these new coatings but no chance would I pay 1-2k to get it done. Detailing is a hobby for me so I simply did Cquartz UK, works great, you have to reapply it every couple of years but you can do it for a few hours of your time and 100 bucks or so and your good to go. I have contemplated opening a detail shop for mid to high end cars and have spoken to many of the coating manufactuers of both pro and non-pro level coatings and they are all pretty similar so for the most part you don't have much risk. There are tons of new coatings being added each year also. There are some chemical level differences between the pro and non-pro products , pro stuff is less forgiving and often requires heat lamps and you get a warranty but most have some significant limits. If you are in any way a DIY person I would encourage you to do it yourself. Of course if your car needs paint correction than that is a DIY that requires some skill and equipment.

https://www.denverautoshield.com/?gc...SAAEgKIy_D_BwE You'll want to talk to Jeff or Jared (brothers). OUTSTANDING work-- they were actually in tyvec suits when I watched them do someone's monster truck. They're located just off Santa Fe in an industrial park just south of that big car wash that used to be Performance Tire. They had some VERY nice toys they were working on when I was there-- an Aston, Bently, Rolls, AMG, Tesla and Porsche. I'll take that as a pretty positive endorsement. I'm in Grant Ranch/Littleton and am pretty much off the flying schedule for the foreseeable future, so I'm pretty much always around from here on out. You're more than welcome to come over and take a look at their work. I had the "Driver's Package" with some modification done to various pieces. Highly recommended. I'm serious about getting "eyes on" if you wish-- I'm a believer in the "a peek is worth a thousand cross-checks" way of doing things. PM me if interested. R. |

Watching them towel off the lambo pretty much sold me as far as quality and attention to detail are concerned. That was pretty great, not to mention the whole video explanation. Clearly they are in the market of quality. Thanks for the recommendation and the offer, I'll shoot you a PM shortly |
